#matsuhana ft. kunimi
it's friday morning, rain drops are drizzling and it's kunimi's favorite time of the day— rainy morning.
begrudgingly, kunimi get off his bed to make himself a hot chocolate to match the vibes of the lazy morning. he was about to tuck himself on his +
bed when his bedroom burst open and his least expected visitors came in.
"happy kunimi day, our dearest son!" matsukawa and hanamaki greeted in unison with a cheerful voices contradicting to their deadpan expressions.
kunimi rolled his eyes to the pair and finished his +
hot chocolate before throwing them his pillow that matsukawa effortlessly catch with one hand.
"what are you going here?" kunimi asked
"we're here to greet you because, obviously, it's your day" hanamaki replied then sits on kunimi's bed and kicked matsukawa
"ouch!" matsukawa wails
"the cake, dumbass!" hanamaki whispered yell at the curl ravenette
"give me a sec! i shall return!" matsukawa said and did the most dramatic exit ever that made kunimi, again, rolled his eyes
it really only took matsukawa a seconds before +
he entered again the youngest room with a box and a small cake on top of it. kunimi chewed on his lower lip to stop it from quivering, he's on the verge of crying.
he tried to cleared his throat and not to choke on his word but got no luck when he asked, "what the hell?"
hanamaki beamed at him while matsukawa just give him a smile-smirk that, well, less annoying because of their situation today.
"it's not my birthday. why are you here? with a freaking cake?" he asked and again stumbled on his own words
"a simple thank you will do." matsukawa said and hold out the cake right in front of kunimi
"and please wipe those tears away." hanamaki added then reach for kunimi's face to wipe the tears for the latter
kunimi accepted the box of cake from matsukawa with his +
trembling hands and sat it down on the bedside table before throwing himself to the two to hug them so tight.
when he feels that the pair hugged him back, that the cue for his tears to flow freely and his suppressed sobs to escape from his quivering mouth.
"i hate you!" kunimi said between his sobs and sniffles
the pair just chuckled at hug him even tighter, but not too tight that can hurt the youngest, jut tight enough to make him feel the warmth of the pair's body.
"we love you too!" hanamaki cooed then plants a kiss +
atop kunimi's head
"gross!" kunimi said that made all of them laugh
when their laughing died out, matsukawa is the first one to pulled away from the hug and light up the candle of the cake.
"just because you're living on your own apartment now, doesn't mean +
we, your parents, are not going to celebrate this day with you. huh, you wish!" matsukawa said then again hold out the cake to kunimi. "blow the candle already because hiro's been salivating to get a slice."
hanamaki snorted. "in my defense, the cake looks so +
delectable. and you know very well, issei, how much i love sweet treats!"
"yeah, i know! now, shut down your dramatic sides and don't outshine our son. today is kunimi day and not hanamaki day!" matsukawa said the gained him a playful smack on his arm from hanamaki
"see that, akira? your daddy's buying your papa." hanamaki said to kunimi who sighed at the former
"can we get this over real quick? i want a slice of cake too and the weather's perfect to idle and do nothing." kunimi said and he blows the cake
the pair clap their hands at the youngest who's now face is painted red. sometimes on the rarest occasions kunimi will flash his boyish smile, and today is one of those /rarest occasions/ because the infamous smile is now plastered on the youngest lips as he watch his +
/self-proclaimed parents/ slice the cake.
"you really hold on to your words, eh?" kunimi said that made the two look at his way. "when you, guys, told me that you will always celebrate my birthday and this day with me even we're all gray and old, i thought you're +
just saying to show off." he added with an awkward laugh
"now what? do you still think that we're just showing off?" hanamaki asked
"no, not even a slightest showing off attitude. i can feel the sincerity. thanks, guys!"
"maybe you should start calling us your parents +
what do you think?" matsukawa asked with an eyebrow arched and a lopsided grin
"i'll think about it!" the pair exchanged looks. "now give me a slice of cake!" kunimi said with the most genuine and sweetest boyish smile hanamaki and matsukawa have ever witnessed
