Pitobi: The Walking Contradiction

Let us delve into the latest political Mavrodi in town and the many contradictions accompanying his presidential ambition.

"The audacity of delusion" ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Thread ๐Ÿงต๐Ÿงถ

๐Ÿ“œ1/16

1. What started out as a clarion call by the youths to take over governance has ended in up with a 61 year old as the poster child. Has the youth age range been shifted and we weren't informed? What makes it more perplexing is the "it is beyond Obi" mantra.

๐Ÿ“œ2/16

If it isn't about Obi, then why not find an actual youth to be the poster child? No wonder Charly boy (aged 72 years) and likes are part of those representing "the youths". Who knows, they may be youths at heart and at political ambitions.

2. One of the many slogans which leaves me confused is the " Take Back Naija" slogan. I usually end up asking who we are taking Naija back from. This question has become so important when considering OBJ is one of its chief engineer and sponsor.

๐Ÿ“œ4/16

OBJ was head of state in '76, president from '99 to 2003 and still sort a 3rd term. After his failed attempt, he installed the two presidents that followed and gave his full backing to to PMB.

๐Ÿ“œ5/16

If we are taking back Naija from the old order that has dictated the affairs of the nation for decades, shouldn't OBJ be part of those we should be taking Naija back from? Not only is PitObi happily hobnobbing with OBJ, but he has also graced...

๐Ÿ“œ6/16

...the quarters of Owners of Nigeria PLC in IBB and Abdusalami. I don't want to go into his meetings with GEJ, Wike and the other "old orders" we should be saving Nigeria from.

3. The "Take Back Naija" slogan confuses me but there is one that outrightly annoys me...

๐Ÿ“œ7/16

..."From consumption to production economy" ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ. How can a man who made his wealth spanning almost 30yrs through consumption (Our political Mavrodi is one of the biggest importers in Nigeria) come to make Nigeria a "production economy"?

๐Ÿ“œ8/16

Does he plan on dismantling his business empire to achieve this? For ~30yrs he couldn't find a way to produce any of the products he imports? Did he change Anambra state from a consumption to production economy? You can't give what you don't have!

๐Ÿ“œ9/16

4. At this point, serious minded Nigerians should see the charade right in front of them. If the scales haven't fallen, then the simple fact that an ex-Gov of 8years doesn't campaign with his achievements while in office should be the ultimate red flag ๐Ÿšฉ

๐Ÿ“œ10/16

His opponents are equally ex-Govs who served 8yrs (Tinubu & Kwankwaso) and they have made their records in public office central to their campaign. All we hear from PitObi is how China's GDP is equal to Nigeria's land mass and divided by HDI of Egypt.

๐Ÿ“œ11/16

His solutions lack the HOW and is laced with the problems Nigerians already know too well. As his vice presidential aspirant boldly acclaimed, " just take it from me, we do". Real definition of vibes and Insha Allah.
"Very intelligent" indeed.

๐Ÿ“œ12/16

5. Last but not least is how a man who lies with the greatest ease earned the trust of his followers? He lies outright about mundane issues, why do his followers believe he wouldn't lie and cover up while in office?
He isn't Him Tu Lie for a reason ๐Ÿ˜

๐Ÿ“œ13/16

The lies have become too embarrassing that his obedient supporters have accepted lying as part of his personal trait they may have to live with. Public office is one that comes with a high amount of trust and clearly Obi has shown he lacks such quality.

๐Ÿ“œ14/16

I know Obi is going nowhere but back to his importation business in Lagos by March when election is over. I have decided to leave out some other issues like "It is about individual and not party", " we are the structure" "We don't want old politicians" to name a few ๐Ÿ˜‚

๐Ÿ“œ15/16

Obi's campaign reminds me of MMM in terms of hype, promises and eventual outcome. I hope his supporters will handle the post election trauma when results are announced. @tajudine2013gm2

Campaigns are about to get serious and boys will be separated from men.
