Can you practice Kundalini Awakening by yourself? If so, how can you practice it?

First, a clarification. Kundalini [awakening] isn’t something you do, it’s something that happens to you. It’s the energy of your spiritual being taking over your physical, mental and emotional bodies.

The spiritual goal is to awaken in consciousness, kundalini is the power that fuels it. As kundalini rises, it triggers physical, emotional & mental transformations. Thus it highlights blocks to consciousness awakening which we carry in our bodies, feelings & thoughts.

We experience the ‘friction’ between the flow of kundalini and the blockages in our personality as ‘inexplicable symptoms’, such as sudden pain, numbness, grief, flashbacks, hallucinations, existential crisis and so on.

Healing these blocks enables kundalini to keep rising — though sometimes an activation of kundalini is so powerful that it punches right through all blocks and goes straight up to the crown.

Once kundalini reaches the crown, it drives the liberation and expansion of consciousness beyond the confines of the ordinary mind, ego and will.

But just raising kundalini itself isn’t the goal, and focusing on raising kundalini in isolation from everything else generally leads to the sort of physical-mental-emotional imbalances that cause problems.

So you don’t try to awaken kundalini directly — you practice meditation and/or yoga to facilitate your spiritual awakening via physical, emotional & mental healing. Then your inner energy will begin to purify & move, & at some point kundalini will take over.

As for practicing by yourself, I would say it depends on your level of maturity, experience and confidence.

If you are young, new to meditation or yoga, not sure how it works, then you need support & guidance from multiple sources. It’s one thing to learn meditation & another to practice something energising like pranayama; then handling kundalini is another level of expertise.

If you are mature in age or outlook, committed to both holistic personal growth and spiritual awakening, with good experience of meditation and/or yoga, with a good understanding of kundalini and all it can do,

both positively and negatively, and with access to inner guidance, then yes, I would say it is possible to go it alone. I would also add that we are never truly alone, no matter how we practice.

The overarching principle when dealing with kundalini activation & awakening is to relax, trust, & surrender. There is an inner intelligence that will seek out any resistances to consciousness which you carry around in your physical, mental & emotional bodies.

These will manifest as odd sensations, spontaneous movements, dreams, memories & feelings. Your job is to accept it all, trust that it is the right thing appearing at the right time, allow it fully into your awareness to gain any insights it might have to offer. Resist nothing.

As you gradually come more and more into alignment (physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually), you will notice youthful energy and enthusiasm rising within yourself, and increasing numbers of syncronicities going on around you.

When there is finally no more resistance to life, kundalini erupts like a solar flare, bathing you in ecstatic bliss, pushing your ego aside, awakening your consciousness to a whole new level.
