Though I was a lifelong Democrat until 2020, I will be voting red this November and in every election for the foreseeable future. I firmly believe that, despite my many disagreements with platforms of the Republican party, it poses far less of a threat than Democrats. 1/

First and foremost, the Democrats advocacy for censorship poses a fundamental threat to our Western Democratic values. The Democrats have aligned themselves with corporate powers, namely big tech, to silence journalists, scientists, and others who depart from the government's 2/

messaging on various topics, from Covid to race ideology to gender identity. If people cannot dissent from the powers that be without fear of reprisal--loss of a paypal account or a job, or an influential social media account--we aren't really living in a free society. 3/

Second, Democrats' unequivocal support for covid restrictions, from lockdowns to mask and vaccine mandates, and refusal to renounce these measures as inhumane and ineffective, is deeply concerning. They see no problem with authoritarian measures that have caused unprecedented 4/

learning loss, mental & physical health problems, & more. They have contributed to the denigration of science by touting CDC studies that are blatant Soviet-style propaganda designed to keep the population from realizing they were deceived on mask mandates and lockdowns. 5/

Third, they have embraced a bizarre ideology that encourages children to hate their bodies, and to seek surgical and hormonal solutions to what are very likely temporary, normal adolescent discomfort with changes that occur to the body during teenage years. 6/

This ideology is so bizarre, so unscientific, and so cruel the only plausible explanation I can come up with is that Democrats have aligned themselves once more with corporate interests--pharma and medical industrial complex--and duped Leftists into thinking this approach is 7/

enlightened. And then there's inflation, which is through the roof, increasing tensions with Russia that could lead to war, and Biden's repeated abuse of his executive power. 8/

If the Democrats do not lose badly in the midterms & in 2024, they will be sent the message that Americans are by and large ok with all of this. That is why I'll be voting R next month. 9/9
