A strong fall storm will impact the Upper Midwest mid to late week - be prepared for heavy rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, and yes - SNOW. #MNwx #WIwx

Before the snow, it will rain - a lot. As much as 2-3"+ of rain is expected in northwest Wisconsin where minor flooding is possible, with most rain falling on Thursday. #MNwx #WIwx

Rain changes over to snow from west to east on Thursday into Thursday night. Timing could change, but generally this change over will happen in northeast MN on Thurs evening, northwest WI on Friday. #MNwx #WIwx

Snowfall amounts are likely to be 4"+ for areas along and north of the Iron Range. Lesser amounts elsewhere, including right along the Lake Superior shoreline. Then: COLD for the weekend. #MNwx #WIwx

Gale-force northeast winds and large waves across western Lake Superior Thurs-Fri - waves as large as 12-15 feet across the outer Apostle Islands, 7-10 feet for the Twin Ports to Grand Marais. Strongest winds Thursday night. #MNwx #WIwx #LakeSuperior
