“Where is he?” Kaveh searches for his child through the whole floor, before he panickedly runs to the first floor of his house. He has just walked into the lounge room, when he sees his husband.

Kaveh immediately stops in his tracks as he’s enraptured with the sight in front of him. His exhaustion and his prior disorientation from frantically searching for his baby right after waking up seem to melt away as intense warmth blooms inside his chest.
There, in the middle of

their garden is Alhaitham, with their baby in his arms. Their son has been stripped of his usual blanket, only clad in a tee and little pants while his tiny hands and fingers are clutching onto his baba tightly.
But that’s not all.
It’s the utterly soft and gentle look on

Alhaitham, that took his breath away. The usually flat and monotonous expression is nowhere to be found as the younger male gazes at their son. A small smile also graces his handsome face, full of affection and adoration as their son babbles incorrigibly at him. His hold on their

son also looks so protective, so…

Combined with the gentle morning light, the image of Alhaitham and his, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 son feels so ethereal. So captivating and picture-esque, like a holy painting that’s just so 𝘣𝘦𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘶𝘭.
Kaveh’s heart melts further as

he hears his husband laughs lightly at their baby’s babble, giving his finger for the baby to take and grip, instead of trying futilely to grab the rather shiny accessories on his baba’s clothes. When his finger bores their son and is let go, Alhaitham softly caresses their son’s

chubby cheeks as if he still can’t believe that such blessing has appeared between their shared lives.
Unexplainable emotions bubble inside Kaveh, as the urge to cry also overwhelms him like no other. Relief, happiness, gratefulness as well as a newfound intense love for his

husband, everything courses through him like a tidal wave that threatens to swallow him whole into the deep ocean. It’s suffocating and his heart feels full, but not in pain nor in anxiousness like the days where they’re still unwed and constantly fighting. No it feels different,

too special and too sensitive to be associated with such a bad connotation.

He thought the hard nights would pass after he gave birth to their son, but it’s actually the other way around. Sleepless nights, sore body, chaotic

feelings and constant cries from their baby plague his life, and more often than not, he wonders if Alhaitham finds them to be annoying and unmanageable. That he hates this new life, so far away from the quiet and undemanding life he led before.
It doesn’t help that Alhaitham

is the Grand Sage now, with so many responsibilities on his shoulder during the day and when he returns at home, he’s immediately greeted with his constant breakdowns and their son’s twenty four seven needs and cries.
Kaveh also knows that this is just his imbalanced hormones

talking, after all he’s usually not one to bow down to this kind of insecurity but he just can’t help it. He also has his own career to think of, but things seem to be impossible now since his son needs his constant attention for at least a year or two. And nights after nights

Kaveh feels like he’s walking on a ticking time bomb. That one day, Alhaitham will get fed up with all of these and leave them both, choosing to return to his calm and hassle-free life.
But somehow, looking at this scene, seeing first-hand how Alhaitham seems to adore their son

so much, it soothes and steadily erases his worry, lightening the burden that he has carried for the past months. Even though there's an obvious patch of slobber on his chest and shoulder, Alhaitham doesn’t seem to be bothered by it. Even though he could’ve just gotten his own

rest and ignored his son, he still chose to take care of him, giving him the mandatory morning sunbath. By the look of his appearance, it seems that Alhaitham has bathed and fed their son as well.

He remembers that he had just prepared their son's milk for the night and wanted to take a momentary breather on the sofa, while Alhaitham washed the dishes. Their son was still awake in his portable crib as well, quieter with the pacifier he gave before.
However, it seemed that

he passed out not long after he sat. When he woke up, he’s already on their bed, all tucked up and with a faint smell of eucalyptus within the blanket. The soreness on his calves and back has disappeared and his face even feel refreshed. There’s no speck of grimes or oil

from yesterday’s work.

Alhaitham took care of him, probably washing his face and lathering his sore and exhausted body with the warm eucalyptus oil, all while taking care of

their son for the whole night. Without complaining nor waking him up at all, even going as far as taking care of their son as well this morning.
Tears wells up in his eyes.

He feels he’s genuinely loved by Alhaitham and that the younger man also

truly loves their son.
A sob escapes from him without his consent and it seems that’s all he needs to make Alhaitham realize his presence.
“Kaveh? Why are you already awake?” Alhaitham calls, but Kaveh is too much of a wreck to properly respond to him. If anything, the call of

his name only fuels his tears.
“What’s going on? Are you hurt?”
Kaveh only sobs harder when a warm hand touches his forehead, cheeks and neck.
“You feel fine, what happened?” Alhaitham asks. “I’m not a mind-reader, Kaveh. I won’t know if you don’t tell- ”

“Why didn’t you wake me up?” Kaveh asks after a deep breath, trying to regain his composure again.
Alhaitham sighs, followed by a soft babble from their son. “You’re exhausted, Kaveh. See, your complexion is still not good.”
“But you are exhausted too.” Kaveh says, his tone

unconsciously turns into a more whiny one.
“We both are.” The gray-haired male nods. “However, you’re also drained mentally. I took the rest of the weekend off, so just go back to the bed and rest for now.”
The explanation and the additional information that he took days off

generates another sob out of Kaveh. “Why? Why did you do that?”
Alhaitham lets out another soft exhale before pulling him into a one-sided embrace, still being careful with their son in his other hand. “Really, there are two babies in my arms right now.” He murmurs teasingly.

“One big baby and one little baby, needing constant care from me.”
“You’re so annoying.” Kaveh exclaims, but burying his face deeper into the other’s body.
“I love you too, Kaveh.” Alhaitham chuckles, before he whispers solemnly. “I’m your husband, and our son’s father. Why do I

I need a reason to take care both of you?”
The answer only melts his defense more and Kaveh replies hoarsely, “You’re so cheesy. Why are you being romantic when I'm like this.” He complains half-heartedly as his tears finally ceases.

“I’m merely stating facts.” Alhaitham responds as he rubs Kaveh’s back. “We are in this together, Kaveh.” He assures before he leaves a soft kiss on the other’s head. “Don’t you forget that.”
