“You are so unfair, Haitham.”

Alhaitham looks down from the book he’s reading, shifting his attention to the blond who’s resting his head on his stomach.
“What makes you reach that sudden conclusion?” Alhaitham asks, mildly curious

of the other’s random train of thought.
“Somehow you are always sure that everything's going to be okay, no matter what it is.” Kaveh murmurs. “Which is ridiculous. You aren’t a God.”
Alhaitham can’t stop the chuckle coming out from his mouth. “𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘯𝘰 𝘎𝘰𝘥.”

“I know that. That’s why it’s more ridiculous, somehow.” Kaveh snides with a roll of his eyes. “It’s just… with all the troubles lately and you, at the center of it…” He trails off.
“Are you worried for me?” Alhaitham asks, putting the book to the side and gives the older man

all of his attention.
“And there it is, your inflated ego.” Kaveh scoffs.
“I did promise that everything will be okay, Kaveh.” Alhaitham assures, sensing the genuine worry underneath the blond’s voice. “Including you and myself.”
Kaveh exhales loudly. “That’s why it’s so unfair.

The level of shits that had been going on were way off the roof, almost on an impossible level.” He replies, before he turns to his chest. He crawls up to Alhaitham’s body and straddles him, before he hovers right across the younger man’s face. Silence fills in the gap between

them, as they look at each other.
“Hey, Alhaitham. Who are you?” Kaveh murmurs solemnly, staring deeply at the eyes he grows to love so much.
Alhaitham lets out a small chuckle at the question. He lifts his right hand and holds Kaveh’s chin with a smirk on his face.

“Will you worship me Kaveh, if I 𝘢𝘮 a God?” He whispers, questioning the blond as his thumb swipes sensually against his bottom lip.
“Will you let me?” Kaveh challenges back. He opens his mouth, engulfing the thumb into his wet cavern and bites it gently, as if he’s making

a point.
“No.” Comes Alhaitham’s easy answer, as he pulls his thumb out and licks the excess saliva on it, all while not breaking their eye contact. “You are far more priceless to kneel under my feet.”
The older male snorts at the rather cheesy answer. “Who said that I will

worship you that way?”
“Then how will you worship me?” Alhaitham amusedly inquires.
The blond haired man raises his eyebrow. “Are you willing to pay the price, Haitham?” Kaveh says, taunting the other further.
“Maybe.” Alhaitham responds. “How shall I pay for it?”
Kaveh scoffs

good-naturedly at the indulgent reply, before he lifts himself from the younger man and rolls to the side. “You’re no fun, Haitham.” He comments, before he turns to his side and stares at the gray-haired man with a half-hearted scowl.
“And you’ve never ceased to

amuse me, Kaveh.” Alhaitham remarks. His previous smirk turns into a genuine, small smile and Kaveh can’t help but get flustered at the handsomeness of his face.
“Hmph.” Kaveh huffs. “Then you gotta pay me with a fancy dinner tonight.”
“Sure, but I’ll be the one who decides where

we will eat.”
“You choose the lousiest one, Haitham.”
“But the food is far better than those you prefer. They are selling the place rather than the food.”
“You simply can’t appreciate 𝘢𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘴.”
“Aesthetics won’t fill my stomach and please my tongue. Also, I’m the one

who’s paying.”
“You’re so annoying. Fine! I’ll let you choose the restaurant.”
“Good boy.”
“I’m older than you!”

Later, when the night has come and they’re laid side by side, Kaveh can’t stop replaying their conversation. “You’re so unfair.” He murmurs as he stares at the

completely asleep Alhaitham. “You’ve always indulged me, protected me, even if you’ve done so while aggravating me this time.” He deeply sighs as a sliver of melancholy passes through him. “How am I supposed to let you go in this life?”
“𝘋𝘰𝘯’𝘵.”
Alhaitham’s sudden voice

startles Kaveh, who immediately recovers as an invisible weighty atmosphere descends between them. The gray-haired man still looks dazed with bleary eyes, but Kaveh has known him enough to know that he’s fully awake.
“Don’t leave my side.” The gray-haired male reiterates, as he

stares at him with such unrecognizable vulnerability and longing that triggers his own heartache.
“When did you-...?” Alhaitham asks before he trails off. “So that’s why you questioned me this afternoon.” He murmurs quietly.

Kaveh smiles bittersweetly in response. “Shall we prolong our play pretend then?”
“It’s not pretend.” Alhaitham denies as he pulls him into his embrace. “Isn’t being 𝘈𝘭𝘩𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘮 and 𝘒𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘩 enough for us this time?” He whispers.

“Silly 𝘈𝘭𝘩𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘮.” Kaveh sighs as he buries his face on the other’s chest. "Fine. But if anything happens I'm blaming you now."

“Everything will be fine, Kaveh. I will promise you so in this lifetime as well.”
