#ushisakuatsu getting together, polyamory in various forms, atsumu needs a break
Atsumu was fine. He was, but he was having a hard time convincing his boyfriends of that.
"You're exhausted," they'd say. "There has to be a better way to handle this."
'This' being their current situation. Atsumu had a full time job, and two boyfriends who he loved very much, and who thankfully didn't mind each other's presence in his life.
But not only did they live in different cities, they had completely different schedules.
He started dating Wakatoshi about eight months ago. Then two months after that, Kiyoomi joined the Black Jackals.
It was not love at first (third?) sight by any means, but it didn't take them long at all to jump at each other's bones.
It took some communication, as to be expected, but both men seemed to be fine with his polyamorous status, and just 'happy to be there.'
So he was dating them both. Which was wonderful. He was getting the best of all the worlds. And in his mind, losing some sleep here and there
was a small price to pay to keep his regular dates with his lovers.
Kiyoomi and Wakatoshi didn't agree. He'd swear they were talking behind his back with the way they said the /exact/ same things to him.
Like maybe they should see each other a little less, call more instead of having to go back and forth from Osaka to Tokyo during off days.
It was like they didn't know him. Atsumu and all his stubbornness were not even close to willing to give up some quality time with either of
his partners just to 'take care of himself.'
After a practice game between their two teams, a rare occasion in which they were all in the same location, the two finally ganged up on him.
The three of them were the only ones left in the locker room, and Atsumu couldn't shake
this ridiculous feeling of 'oh-oh, I'm in trouble'.
And in trouble he was.
"We're ending this."
Atsumu's mouth dropped.
"What?" Kiyoomi broke his stern facade. "Wakatoshi, no. That's the most terrible way you could've said this."
His other partner crossed his arms.
"How else should I put it? We just agreed it's time we end Atsumu's suffering."
Kiyoomi scoffed. "Yeah, not give him a heart attack. Look at his face."
At his hand gesture, Wakatoshi looked over to Atsumu.
He was met with a heartbreaking expression.
Immediately realizing his mistake, the Adlers player cooed at his boyfriend and embraced him in a hug.
"Oh, Atsumu. Of course I didn't mean end /this/. Neither of us would be that foolish."
It took a second, but Atsumu finally got over his initial shock and sagged in relief.
"Yer- What do ya mean yer ending my suffering then?" He got around Wakatoshi to glare at Kiyoomi as well. "And who says I'm sufferin' in the first place? I already told ya I'm-"
"Fine." His boyfriends said in unison, each with a heavy roll of eyes.
"Except you're not."
Kiyoomi didn't say anything beyond that, and apparently he felt like he didn't need to.
Atsumu looked between the two men he loved so dearly. Who loved him too much for their damn good.
"What are ya proposing then?"
If he sounded skeptic, that's because he was.
He wouldn't budge on this that easily.
He would keep his damn cuddle quotas intact.
The two metamours looked at each other, and Kiyoomi spoke up.
"We want to have some of our dates together. All three of us."
They... What?
"What?"
"You heard him, Atsumu."
"Well yea, but that doesn't mean I got it 'Toshi! Mind explainin' bit more?"
"Of course," Wakatoshi remained unbothered by his lover's dramatics. "Instead of having separate weekly dates, we would all see each other at the same
time. That way, you don't lose the 'quality time' you seek with either of us, but you get some more time for yourself as well. I'll make my way over to Osaka as often as I can."
Kiyoomi was nodding along. Atsumu was still rebooting.
He felt lucky enough the two of them didn't
mind the other. Now they were proposing this?
"What if I-" There had to be things they didn't consider enough. "What if I wanna touch one of ya?"
He could feel the blush rising in his cheeks, and Kiyoomi's gaze following it.
"Then you would."
Wakatoshi nodded. "Just like you would at our private dates."
He kept frowning. "Wouldn't ya be jealous? It's one thing to know about this whole thing, but watchin' it'd be a different story."
"Atsumu," it was Kiyoomi's turn to get close, and run a gentle hand over his arm.
"We wouldn't have suggested it if it wasn't fine with both of us. We don't do impulsive, you know that. We leave that up to you."
The last jab was accompanied by a smirk, and Atsumu felt himself relaxing, just a little.
"I enjoy it when you're happy." Wakatoshi said, starting at dark eyes instead of golden ones. "He makes you happy, and I won't have a problem witnessing it."
Atsumu considered his words.
They were honest, as they always were with these wonderful men.
How did he ever get so lucky?
Taking in a sharp breath, Atsumu composed himself.
"So, who's up for a date night tonight?"
And if they all had way more fun than expected when all together, well. It seemed Atsumu wasn't the only lucky one.
Three is a lucky number after all.
