1/. "If you're cold, take one. If you can help, leave one"
#TakeOneLeaveOne isn't a charity or an organisation - it's an idea
Why not set up a #TOLO rail wherever you are, offering warm clothes to those in need?
We'll send you a free banner
See interview with @AlStewartOBE👇
2/. Over the last 5 years, #TakeOneLeaveOne has grown from a single rail - set up during the 2018 freeze dubbed the Beast From The East - to 150+ rails across the UK & beyond
This year @Take1_Leave1 was given a Local Heroes Award & £250 by @belVita owned by multinational
@MDLZ
3/. Our ambition - a #TakeOneLeaveOne rail on every high street
It would be great if @Shelter @crisis_uk @SalvArmyIHQ @save_children @oxfamgb etc could put #TOLO rails outside their charity shops or supermarkets @sainsburys @tesco @asda @coopuk
etc could put one in their foyer
4/. Incase you were wondering, the little fellow who joined me at the end of my interview was Farringdon Bear - a homeless Koala found at Farringdon station last year
Selflessly, he became a mascot for the #TakeOneLeaveOne, an initiative providing warm clothes to those in need
5/. Farringdon Bear shot to fame in 2021 when an appeal on @lostteddybear went viral
Hopes of a happy reunion with his owner were covered in the press, only to be dashed when it was realised he was the wrong koala
As a bear who’d been homeless, he was a perfect mascot for #TOLO
