A. Jim, then please reply to the last tweet, not the first, so the thread doesn't fork unnecessarily.
B. Please stop talking about "heat," because there are two definitions of the word, and you keep using the other one. Talk about ENERGY, instead, to avoid ambiguity.

C. You wrote, "Heat does not flow hot to cold, this is a thermodynamic fact."
You meant the opposite, but that's not the main problem.
These statements are BOTH wrong:
❌"Energy does not flow hot to cold"
❌"Energy does not flow cold to hot"
ENERGY flows BOTH ways.

D(1). You wrote, "Warming in the dictionary means increase in temperature, slower cooling is different"
That's pedantic, and also wrong. In THIS context, "warming" means to make it warmer than it otherwise would have been.
A coat still warms you outside in the blizzard.

D(2). Absorbing energy ALWAYS makes a thing warmer than it otherwise would have been. So when the Earth's surface absorbs downwelling radiation (whether it's sunlight. or LW IR from GHGs & clouds) it is also thereby warmed.

E. You wrote, "slower cooling is driven by latent heat of WV."
Latent heat released by condensation of water vapor at night is ONE of the factors which retard cooling at night (though only under certain conditions). It's not the only one.

F. You wrote, "The effect of slower cooling WRT to co2 is minuscule"
I think you meant the converse: LW infrared radiation from CO2 has miniscule effect on temperature. That's wrong, but it IS true that the 140 ppmv INCREASE thanks to mankind has a modest effect.
