@WWF-linked edition of a popular comic strip in Belgium. This particular album is an absolute disgrace & clearly illustrates the mindset of a neocolonial Safari club.

It's fundamentally racist: scenes of poverty linked to the laziness of the local population (when the white protagonist asks why the local in the picture is just hanging around and not working, the latter replies: "why work?")

Obviously, the white "heroes" from Europe have come over to save Nature from the evil black poachers.

They're "on a mission", because they had received a letter from Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, the Founding President of @WWF, asking them to "save the rhino".

More on the Prince's shady anti-rhino operations in this 2014 Guardian article:

But the entire article is interesting: theguardian.com/environment/20…

It refers to the investigative work done in the book "Panda Leaks: the Dark Side of the WWF"
pandaleaks.org

But here's where it becomes truly dark: "The 1001 Club". Founded by Bernhard & A. Rupert (WWF founding member, South African entrepreneur who made a fortune in the tobacco industry & member of a nationalist secret society) - as a mechanism to fund the WWF.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_1001:…

The membership list is secret, as WWF refuses transparency. From what has been leaked, it seems to be a mix of the ultra-rich, bankers, dictators, heads of state, aristocrats, the military & secret services. Prince Bernhard himself was member number 1001.

Some 1001 members were businessmen with suspect connections (incl. organized crime, environmentally destructive development, corrupt African politics, Apartheid). Essentially, "the identities of the 1,001 members [...] reflect quite closely Bernhard's own circle of acquaintances"

Let's have a closer look at the "Founding President of WWF": after an IG Farben & Nazi past, he married Princess Juliana of the Netherlands in 1937. Upon his wife's accession to the throne in 1948, he became the prince consort of the Netherlands.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_Be…

In 1961, he co-founded WWF. The list of other founders is remarkable, including: Prince Philip (known for his neo-Malthusian & eugenic sympathies), Julian Huxley (first Director of UNESCO & president of the British Eugenics Society), and a Rockefeller.

In 1954, the Bilderberg Group was created. The initiators: Bernhard, Retinger (key architect of the European Union), van Zeeland (then Belgian prime minister), Rijkers (then head of Unilever), Bedell Smith (then head of the CIA).
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bilderber…

Often topic of conspiracy theory, Bernhard's Bilderberg is a semi-secret think tank to promote corporate globalisation. The mix of participants isn't only reminiscent of the Davos crowd, but also of the 1001 club: political leaders, industrialists, finance, academia, media.

The 1st Bilderberg meeting was mostly set up by Retinger, while Prince Bernhard served as chairman. Attendees: the inevitable David Rockefeller, various high-level profiles & some interesting individuals (eg. de Bonvoisin, a Belgian fascistoid aristocrat).

Also present: Antoine Pinay, who established the "Cercle Pinay" in 1952 with Konrad Adenauer & Franz Josef Strauss. Another secretive, invitation-only foreign policy forum. Infamous for supporting Apartheid & being connected to Atlantic secret services. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Cercle

Read this by David Teacher on "The Cercle" if you want to enter a mind-blowing rabbit hole. Also mentions Bernhard & Bilderberg. samim.io/dl/2021-rogue-…

In 1976, Prince Bernhard was forced to step down from the above-mentioned groups after being involved in the Lockheed Bribery Scandal, after receiving a $1 million bribe. Queen Juliana threatened to abdicate if Bernhard was prosecuted. Bernhard was spared. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_…

Granted, this is all decades old. But even today, together with WEF & others, WWF keeps on operating as a interventionist elite. Its 'New Deal for Nature', 'Nature Positive', #30x30 & 'Protected Areas' plans consists of a neocolonial land grab.

#naturebasedsolutions still look like this: very "Club 1001"-like (and with Unilever still in the background).

To look behind the eco-façade, watch this documentary, describing WWF as "the most influential lobby group for the environment in the world, thanks largely to its excellent contacts in both the political & industrial spheres":

And, to circle back to the first tweets in this thread: "The beloved animal charity with the cuddly panda logo funds vicious paramilitary forces to fight poaching"

Ten Pence in the Panda Controversy (1990), looking into the many failings of the @WWF, leaked to The Cook Report – it stirred up a veritable hornet’s nest, WWF tried to have the programme pulled. WWF director general de Haes resigned shortly afterwards.
