We wanted to update you on #Residensity, our new site for exploring & measuring density & housing type anywhere in MA. A group of users are testing a beta version now & we will be test driving it Fri/Sat at @massmunicipal conference (booth 716). 1/ @transitmatters @APA_Mass

We're aiming for full release in a few weeks. We want to get the user experience right. Why are we psyched? Nobody has calculated density across state before or built methodology to keep data fresh. People will get housing units & density estimates in a matter of seconds. 2/

Residensity has housing unit counts, density estimates & standardized use descriptions for every residential lot in MA – over 2.16M unique parcels (but who’s counting 😎). Did we mention every parcel is interactive? 3/ @BarrFdn @CHAPAdotorg @masscdcs @joeboncore @cdempc

We’re most excited about our custom Neighborhood Analysis tool. It calculates density estimates & unit counts for any area you choose. We’ll also generate a breakdown by housing type to give you even more insight into how density shapes your neighborhood. 4/ @transitmaters

#Residensity offers multiple ways of drawing custom neighborhoods – using our distance buffer tool, we created 1/2-mile area around Gloucester's rail station & learned this area has density of 9 units/acre. This is the type of stuff you'll be able to do fast! 5/ @AndrewDeFranza1

Curious about how density shapes different places? You’ll be able to draw multiple neighborhood areas & switch between them with click of a button – check out these examples from Waltham & Weston. You can compare density patterns to your❤️'s content! 6/ @BrendanCrighton

What good is data if you can’t share with friends? We’ve added functionality for exporting data from #Residensity. You can download pre-formatted PDF maps, data tables & more! Here’s a map we generated on site of a neighborhood in Webster, MA: 7/ @berkie1 @BosIndicators

You’ll be able to take our data to-go! Download #Residensity data & import it into your GIS software to use how you see fit. We believe in data access & we’re looking fwd to seeing all the ways you take advantage of it. 8/ @JenniferRaitt @amydain @MaxwellBPalmer @katherineeinst

We can’t wait to share #Residensity with you. It’s a one-of-a-kind data tool. We're in the home stretch with a group of users testing the site to make sure everything works & refreshing data to make things currrent. Follow us here for the full release coming soon. 9/end
