How to run the @NetworkMeson Meson #Node with free VPS in simple steps

Airdrop Confirmed

A Thread🧵

2/15 Late last year we checked how to run GAGA NODE which is also owned by @NetworkMeson.

The only difference is Gaga Node can be run on phone. Meson Node is strictly on Linux environments

In case you missed Gaga node guide here it is👇🏻

3/15 We will make use of the freeAWS VPS to run this.
Follow this video guide if you haven’t setup your free AWS account

Lets get started 😎

4/15 I will assume you have setup your AWS account so sign in and lets create an ubuntu instance.

Go to services (frame 1)

Click on compute (frame2)

Click on EC2 (frame 3)

Change your location to Asia Pacific(Seoul) (frame 4)

5/15 Next, Click on launch instance (frame 1)
In the name and tag put any name you like(frame 2)

In the application and OS image choose Ubuntu(frame 2)

Change the Ubuntu server to server 20.04(frame 3)

6/15 Scroll down till you see KEY PAIR
Click on create new key pair and input any name then create.
Clicking create Will download a .pem file, do not delete it. Check pictures below.

7/15 Go to network settings set according to the picture below and check what I check marked

8/15 Next, to configure storage change the value from 8 to 25, then click launch Instance

On the page that comes up next select the strings of numbers (frame 2)

You will see something like this, you might need to refresh the page to see current status(frame 3)

9/15 Now lets create our Meson account, open another tab on your browser and open this link
dashboard.meson.network/register

Login after registration and click Node (frame 2)

10/15 Now go back to the instance page, select your instance and connect, confused 🫤? Check picture below😂

Then on the displayed page select EC2 instance connect then click connect( frame 2)

11/15 You should see something like this(frame 1)

Now click on the last line on the page, looks like ‘ubuntu@ip….’ You should see a white line in front of it(frame 2)

12/15 Now go back to your meson account page in Node section copy the first line of code(frame 1)

Go back to the VPS and paste then click enter

Note; ctrl + v wont work so use normal right click then paste method

After that run this code

sudo ufw allow 443

13/15 After running the code you will see something like this on the terminal (frame 1)

Now go back and copy the 2nd code and paste it on the terminal and press enter (frame 2)

This should return ‘set config success’ on the terminal

Now go back and copy the 3rd code(frame 3)

14/15 Paste it on the terminal and click enter you should see ‘set config success’

After about 10 minutes, you should see a new Node pop up under nodes

And that’s it. We are done😌

15/15 To check your reward click on Testnet then check daily reward

Click total balance to check balance.

The amount of reward you mine will be calculated with the other nodes runner and converted into 1% of Mainnet token, check calculation below (frame 2)
