Spent the morning exploring Chicago's lakefront (a thread). First up, some lazy waves with the skyline from the North Ave lakefront path. #ilwx
Some low clouds, some high clouds and a splash of color in the sky and on the lake.
The sun makes an appearance from the North Ave Pier with some thin ice formations on the Lake Michigan.
I shifted North up to Montrose Beach where there was a pancake ice breakfast being served!
Here's a top down view of the pancake ice. Yum.
Montrose Pier loaded up and slowly releasing ice out to the SE.
Here's a locked down look at the ice bumping into each other on the lake.
And then while filming with my @insta360 X3 I slipped on the ice and my arm couldn't handle the shockwave while holding the 10 foot tall selfie stick. The bottom of the stick hit the ground and it pogo'd into the lake and floated away with it's new ice friends.😭
I didn't have anything that could reach it or the time to run and get something that could. The @insta360 can be replaced. I cannot.🥶
