I care about antisemitism. As an amateur historian of the Holocaust and someone who converts its deniers online as a hobby of sorts, it bothers me. I have in (a minor way) lectured on the topic of antisemitism and Holocaust Denial.

I am not Jewish.

I suppose my specific interest in the world's oldest hatred began during the @jeremycorbyn years. My Jewish friends were scared. Scared of an election result. In ENGLAND.

This made me extremely angry.

The bile the hard left unleashed was chilling and revolting.

This was something I would not tolerate. Ever since Lord Protector Cromwell welcomed the Jews back to our shores, this small community has been quietly getting on with things, contributing, advancing, expanding and succeeding.

An attack on the Jews is an attack on our civilisation, our country, our people, and on us. We will not suffer this. We say no, no, no.

From the comfort of England, it's easy to think that antisemitism is something that happens in black & white photos, among the baroque facades of unpronounceable cities. But it is not. It prevails. It is here. And it is so very modern.

So, to the point. This starts with a community called the @MriyaReport. This group of buccaneering amateur broadcasters created a space where information, truth and justice prevails, all with one goal - victory for Ukraine.

The @MriyaReport was founded by, among others, a distinguished officer of the Canadian Army. I'm sure the men of Vimy Ridge and Juno Beach need no eulogy from me.

Thing is, that officer is a Jew. An observant, Orthodox Jew who isn't exactly quiet about it.

He is @YAmzallagh

As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.

A community of oddballs quickly formed around @YAmzallagh to attack this Jewish officer.

But these aren't just any oddballs.

They are known to the authorities. They are known to @EliotHiggins and others at @bellingcat

And above all, they're known as Nazi adjacent.

Not "Nazi" in the Kremlin bullshit sense. Real, strutting, sieg-heilling Nazis.

These are the people they support, online and off.

These - THESE - are the people who suddenly decide to go after a Jew - @YAmzallagh

They are superstars in the murky, pathetic world of literal Nazi politics. They speak on all the nuttiest circuits. They have flats full of creepy memorabilia.

They get booted out of apolitical institutions for being literal Nazis:

From crypto Ponzi-scammers to fantasy doctors, they assemble with one goal - to ruin the reputation and career of a Jewish man who has contributed more to humanity than they ever will in their entire miserable existences.

Is this the world's oldest hatred in action? Can it be a coincidence that the people going after a Jewish man are also openly friends with Nazis?
