Tomb of Nawab Mian Khan has been ignored ever since Mughal Rule in Punjab came to an end, it has remained in this state since British era

A thread on Nawab Mian Khan to shed light on the significance of this forgotten monument 🧵

An article on daily mail claims that Mian Khan was a son of Vizier-E-Azam Saadullah Khan Allami which is true but wrongly states that he died in 1671

Mian Khan's real name was Nawab Hifzullah Khan and he was raised in the Mughal court after his father's death ...

.... Hifzullah Khan was the Governor of Lahore as a deputy to Shehzada Jahandar Shah at the start of his career, his hometown was Chiniot in the South of the Suba

He would later go on to be the Subahdar of Kashmir and Sindh where he eventually died in 1701 towards the end...

... of Aurangzeb's reign, he and his brother Lutfullah Khan were greatly valued by Aurangzeb because he was a student of their father Saadullah Khan

He is credited with patronising works of art and construction both in Punjab and Sindh, like his father he valued architecture

During his governorship over these lands, people enjoyed peace and he was only called into action once against the rebellion in Jammu supported by Sikhs which he successfully put down

His son governed in Punjab and would later go on to become Subahdar of Bijapur until his death

Nawab Hifzullah Khan alias Mian Khan is one of the many great characters from our lands who have not been given their due recognition

Government of Punjab should repair his tomb and work on officially documenting history of this period
