I have sad news today
Several days ago, I lost my son Jefferson, who I love so much, who's missed by so many.
I want to say a few words about him below, if you could consider looking at, or just sharing the link here, it would help me a lot.
chuffed.org/project/helpje…
His mother, his sister, all his family, all his colleagues, all his friends have been shocked.
He's especially missed by those that took the time to know and understand him.
Jeff was only 23 when we lost him. He had so much more learning, living and giving to do. I the too short tome he was here, he gave his talent and spirit to world, a world that didn't always know how to accept those gifts.
Jeff was autistic, & other traits recognised as neurodivergent. This made it harder for him to achieve his own goals in life; but what made it harder was his exclusion from parts & activities of society that many of us take for granted. (#Quokka in photo)
He was forced to become resilient and developed his own way coping.
He didn't win many awards or medals but he persited and went through >12 years of state education to gain his HSC. He became our little champion, who overcame more than anyone that met him, would ever know.
He was a physical giant of close to 6ft5. It's no surprise that he was sometimes seen as intimidating or scary, and to a kind and gentle person, as he was, as we all should be, this was hard to comprehend.
He could not change the world but was forced to withdraw from it so he could live as he wanted the world to be.
He enjoyed laughing at presidents as well as fart jokes. He wanted men not to give other men a bad name by being hurtful or exploitative dickheads or worse.
He thought all people deserve respect and to be safe and supported, wherever or whoever they are.
I'm just going to say thanks to all the teachers out there, who turn up every day for the kids, and too rarely get thanked.
I'm going to thank those fighting for better in the disability sector. @SenatorJordon and @criprights come to mind.
And as always the nurses and carers.
@SenatorJordon @criprights I'm finding it hard to get through every day and night. 💔Not feeling talkative. Regular psychologist visit tomorrow. I'll get through this.
Thanking also my partner @peacenicsta (also hurting) for love and support.
Be kind to one another 🖤
Show love ❤️
Fin...for now/
