This Muslim Couple wanted to give their properties to their daughters but that’s not permissible under Sharia.
Under Shariat law, only 1/3 of the estate can be willed in favour of anyone. The remaining will still have to be divided as per the complex religious law.

Inheritance for Muslims in India is governed by Muslim Personal Law(Shariat) Application Act, 1937.
Law is clear:
1. Daughters gets half of son
2. Inheritance within Muslims only, i.e. Hindu wife is not entitled to inheritance from Muslîm Husband unless she converts to Islam

3 Feb, 2023: Adv Shukkur filed application for marriage under Sec 15 of Special Marriage Act & given 30 days’ mandatory notice.
Till 2001, Christians who wanted divorce also used to marry under SMA as adultery was only ground of Divorce under The Indian Divorce Act, 1869.

Hard core Islamist Extremist group- Council for Fatwa & Research of the Darul Huda Islamic University, based in Malappuram called it an
“anti-Islamic and selfish motive”.
It has threatened to block wedding under Special Marriage Act.

Another Islamist extremist group- The Mujahid Girls and Women (MGM) has labelled this educated couple as-
“tools in the hands of anti-Muslim forces"
MGM not only mocked #UCC but has threatened this couple after for retaliation from his community.
