Many bookish creators are taking part in the #TransRightsReadathon! The aim is to read books written by trans authors or with trans characters whilst raising money.

This is a great way to support authors and diversify your reading. Here are some of our favourite recs! 🧵(1/11)

First of all, in some context, The Trans Rights readathon was set up by @sim_kern on tiktok. All you have to do is sign up, select an org to fundraise for and get reading! We just had to bring light to how wonderfully creative this is.

Now…onto our book recs! (2/11)

Iron Widow - A sci-fi retelling of the Chinese Empress Wu Zetian’s rise to power. It has an incredible anti-hero, and a beautifully chaotic polyamory story. Written by the incredibly skilled nonbinary author @XiranJayZhao (8/11)

Cheer Up: Love and Pompoms by Crystal Frasier, Val Wise and Oscar O Jupiter. This follows Annie, a smart, antisocial lesbian, and how she rekindles her friendship with BeeBee a trans girl who must keep her parents happy to keep their support of her transition (9/11)

Wish You All The Best - @masondeaver. When Ben comes out to their parents as nonbinary, they're thrown out of their house and forced to move in with their estranged older sister. Struggling with an anxiety disorder, when they meet Nathan, everything changes. (10/11)

Honestly, this list could go on and on. There are so many talented trans authors and trans stories that exist, but we hope this list provides you with a great place to start!
