SHOCKING ⚠️
I just learned the reason for the baffling 🇨🇦silence at outcome of TOTALLY UNFAIR outcome of the 2016 #Olympics 800m women’s podium that featured three MALE winners, leaving #Canada’s #MelissaBishop in 4th place instead of winning 🥇 GOLD as she deserved:
A lawyer from @TeamCanada threatened #Canadian head coach @Head1Coach as follows:
“I was threatened by COC lawyers in 2016 not to speak up. If I said something I was told that I was going to be banned for life from sport.”

I do have his blessing to post this for the first time in public.

#UNETHICAL

#cdnpoli

The injustice to one of our own female athletes from #Canada 🇨🇦 is breathtaking.
Our own country’s leadership would rather sellout to a cult rather than to defend one of our champions - even at the expense of waving GOODBYE to #Olympic Gold!! 🥇
Sacrificing a woman and her entire career on the alter of #GenderIdeology .
Just let that sink in. 🤯

This is on you @WorldAthletics !!
Shame on all of you.

#Disappointing
#Absurd
#Unsporting

We need both @WorldAthletics and the @iocmedia to restore justice to Canada’s #MelissaBishop immediately!
You can still do the right thing and give her the gold retrospectively like you do for doping cases.
Getting a medal in the mail isn’t great but at least it’s something.

#GoldToMelissa 🥇

And the other medals to the deserving women.
🥈 🥉

From #Poland Poland 🇵🇱 & #GreatBritain 🇬🇧

Reminder 😢
For some athletes it’s not always a happy ending and the injustice will sit in the corner of their mind for life.
We won’t forget you #MelissaBishop 🌹🏆

You are one of the reasons we work hard to…

Ok.
A lot of people say they cannot see this video.
Here is my kitchen table recording…

What adds to the calamity is that 2016 Rio Olympics was the last chance that Melissa’s legendary coach, Dennis Fairall (who was battling a prolonged illness), would have been able to watch her win the medal she clearly deserved.
In sports there are no second chances usually.
Consequences & outcomes are real and have a huge impact on every person on the athlete support team.
It would have been the crowning 🇨🇦achievement for both athlete and coach.
#Heartbreaking 😢
