Her husband’s affair is the fulcrum of the entire plot imo. W/o it there’d be lots of different outcomes & plot holes to the overall storyline.

The affair not only destroyed her family & her self worth but it ultimately sparked years of pain & misery for many more ppl!
I can’t imagine how shitty it must have felt for her. Especially since Hank was the man she had started a family with. The shock of it all was clearly enough to break her. It was enough to make her abandon her son & enough to make her leave her life in Woodsboro… #Scream
This neglect towards Billy jumpstarted his inherent psychotic tendencies & desires,
ultimately opening up his sociopathic mind to new avenues of pain, new urges (like wanting revenge), & negative influences (like Roman & horror movies)… #Scream
Imagine what was goin thru her mind w all the media attention that would come later with Maureen’s murder, Gale’s book & with her husband’s name being involved!
She must’ve been going insane watching this all make major headlines reminding her of what she had left/lost! #Scream
then she sees Woodsboro kids butchered on the news & hears Billy was the one behind it all! Literally the daughter of her husband’s mistress is gettin all the fame/attention while she hears her son was killed & is a killer. Her son was even dating her ex’s mistress’s daughter! 🤯
A part of me really empathizes w/her. At one point she was probably a great hardworking mother & a loving wife who did nothin but try her best to have a good/happy life. No one expects to have their entire life flipped upside down in the way hers did. It’s a sad reality #Scream
How else would she hav abandoned Billy if it werent for this affair? Also, how else would Roman hav carried out his revenge if he didn’t have Maureen’s affair to motivate Billy?
Things would have gone down completely differently & w completely different ppl most likely! #Scream
She was your prototypical “hidden in plain sight” character! That’s why I loved her so much! Her ability to go unnoticed was a huge key to her success & execution of her plan. With a new identity/makeover, she needed to make sure she was as unrecognizable as possible…

Losing nearly 60 pounds & changing up her entire look & persona would take lots of practice & took guts. It showed true determination. She manipulated a serial killer by bribing him w/tuition$. She also manipulated him into handling a majority of all her dirty work! She’s badass!
The eye balls popping! The monologue! U name it! She was genuinely terrifying! Her Randy scene was amazing & her overall emotional breakdown was one for the ages! #Scream
Overall I feel bad for her the most & thats why I appreciate her psychotic break the most. The affair dictates so much of the overall plot line that I can’t help but see it as the common denominator to everything! Hope you enjoyed! Lmk what you think! Who is ur fav GF?! #Scream
