“I cannot think of a more naked attempt to circumvent the will of the voters, the will of the legislature, and the will of the governor,” said one board member, who read aloud one of the reported agreements between Disney and the former Reedy Creek board. 3/

Interestingly, the former Reedy Creek board members who approved the last-minute deals with Disney still own landlocked property near EPCOT (which was required under the original Reedy Creek charter). No word yet when they might transfer the deeds back to Disney.
This is the statement @WaltDisneyWorld president Jeff Vahle issued in February after the Florida legislature passed the bill altering the Reedy Creek Improvement District. The company’s agreements with the old Reedy Creek board were signed days earlier.
The agreements between Disney and the old Reedy Creek board were recorded with the Orange County Comptroller on Feb 9 - the day before the Florida legislature passed the bill altering the district and 18 days before @GovRonDeSantis signed it. It was all online. Nobody noticed.
Nearly 10 months passed between @VoteRandyFine filing a bill to abolish Reedy Creek and @Hawkins4florida filing a bill to reinstate the special district with alternations. Disney and Reedy Creek signed the agreements 2 days later (and recorded it with the county the next day)
