@RCBTweets

Royal Challengers Bangalore often called as RCB is a franchise cricket team based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, that plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL). It was founded in 2008 by United Spirits and named after the company's liquor brand Royal Challenge.

Ahead of the 2008 player auction,The franchise acquired star players at the auction such as Jacques Kallis, Anil Kumble, Zaheer Khan, Boucher, Steyn, zRoss Taylor and White. They also signed up India under-19 World Cup winning captain Virat Kohli in the second round of auction.

The team won only 4 of the 14 matches in the inaugural season, finishing seventh in the eight-team table. Only Dravid managed to score more than 300 runs in the tournament and zaheer Khan being the highest wicket taker for them with 13 wickets.

At the 2009 player auction, the franchise signed up Kevin Pietersen for a record sum of $1.55M. They traded Uthappa and Manish Pandey from MI. Bangalore struggled during the initial games of the 2009 season, winning only two of their first six games under new captain Pietersen.

After Pietersen left for national duty and Kumble took over the captaincy, as the team went on to win six of their remaining eight league games to finish third on the points table and also reached finals. In the final against DC the RCB bowlers, led by Kumble's 4 for 16,

kept the Chargers down to 143/6. However, they struggled in the runchase, with only four batsmen reaching double figures, and lost the match by six runs in a tense finish. This was their first final appearance.

2010 season :-
In 2010, the Royal Challengers continued under Kumble's captaincy and finished the regular season with seven wins from 14 matches and 14 points. They were defeated by MI by 35 runs in the semifinals which kicked them out of the tournament.

2011 season
RCB made a surprise of retaining only Virat Kohli and let everyone to the mega auction. They bought stars like Dilshan, Nannes, AB Devilliers, Vettori in the auction.
Vettori led the side for the fourth season of the IPL but they suffered three big defeats in a row.

However Chris Gayle who came as the replacement of injured Nannes changed their fortunes. RCB went on winning 7 matches in a row there on. Gayle scored 608 runs with sr of 183 in just 11 matches.But Gayle's efforts couldn't help to win the trophy. We lost against csk in the final

2012 season:-
They started the tournament with a win followed by three losses. Gayle went on beast mode in this IPL too scoring 733 runs in the season. They were tied with cak for the playoffs spot but a batting failure against srh costed them the spot in playoffs.

2013 season :-
RCB kicked off their 2013 campaign by winning their first 6 home games. This season will be remembered for Gayle's 175 when people named as Ban-gayle-ore.
They couldn't made to playoffs because the other results didn't came on their way.
Gayle scored 708 runs ☠️

Virat kohli was named as RCB captain ahead of 2014 season.
They retained Gayle and Devilliers and let everyone to the auction
They also bought Yuvraj Singh in the auction for 14 crore which was a expensive but back then. They ended up 7th in the points table and didn't qualify.

2015 IPL :-
RCB started their season with a win against KKR supported by a knock of 96 by Gayle. But they lost their next three matches in their home ground. RCB's good form continued when AB and Virat smashed the highest T20 partnership ever (later beaten by the same pair)

Later stunning performances from Virat and Gayle, RCB won an unlikely match in Hyderabad.
They qualified for the playoffs. However, they lost to the Csk in the Qualifier 2, and ended the season finishing third.This season will be remembered for AB's 133,Virat's 44,Gayle's 5th 100

2016 :- Dream Season
From the auction they bought Shane Watson for 9.5cr. Although Virat's and AB's brilliant form they won only 2 of their first 7 matches.
Now RCB needed to win at least 6 of their next seven matches to have a chance at qualifying for the playoffs. They won

against Pun and RPS but lost to MI.
They needed 4 out of 4 wins here on. The match match against Gujarat is a classic till date. AB and Virat went on to the monster mode while both scoring centuries took RCB to the mammoth 248 and they won the game by 144 runs. They also

registered highest partnership in IPL (229) which is a record till date.
Next match against Punjab where Virat scored century with 7 stitches in his hand. He scored the century in the rain effected 15 overs match 💥. Later win against KKR and DD made them to sit in 2nd place.

They faced the GL in the Qualifier1.
They asked RCB to chase the target of 158.
RCB were at 29/5 and 48/6 at one situation and almost everyone lost their hopes. Then came the GOD to save them. AB with 79*and Abdullah with 33* won the match.
ABCDE - AB Can Do Everything 🙏.

They faced srh in the final of 2016 in the RCB's home ground. RCB lost a hard-fought match by 8 runs, to end as runners up. This is the third instance of RCB losing the final in the IPL. Gayle's 74 and Virat's 54 went in vain.

I am still a hater of Ben Cutting 🤬.

This 2016 season will be remembered for

* Virat Kohli's 973 runs in the season which is still a record.
* AB's 690 runs which ended him as 3rd highest runscorer.
* Gayle's supporting knocks.
* KL's establishment as a batsman.
* Chahal and Watson's bowling performances.

2017 season :-
Worst season for any hardcore RCB fan.
The team was the worst hit with injuries as their captain Virat and AB did not play for the initial matches. Gayle was totally out of form in the season. As No one took up the charge they ended up in the bottom.

2017 will be remembered for
* AB's 89 off 47 against Punjab where other players ended up playing 57 dot balls
* Gayle becoming first player to score 10k rins in t20s.
* Badree's IPL hat trick
* 49 all-out
* The rise of famous " Ee saala Cup namde" Slogan.

2018 season :-
RCB had retained Kohli, AB and sarfaraz and let everyone to go mega auction. Most surprising releases were Gayle and KL Rahul.
RCB won only 6 out of their 14 games and ended up 6th in the points table and didn't qualify for the playoffs.

Will make the performance of remaining seasons by this night since 25 tweets are the limit to make a thread 😔.

End of the thread.
