AutoGPTs are improving at a blazingly fast speed and could soon transform the face of business.
Here's what you need to know:
What exactly are AutoGPTs?
AutoGPTs, which appeared just last week, are designed to automate GPT-4 tasks, enabling the creation of agents that complete tasks for you without any intervention.
The most popular ones are BabyAGI by @yoheinakajima and Auto-GPT by @SigGravitas.
The main features of AutoGPTs:
1) assign tasks/goals to be worked on automatically until completed
2) chain together multiple GPT-4s to collaborate on the tasks
3) internet access and ability to read/write files
4) memory to know what has been done
Currently, they're just experiments and have many limitations. Notably, they get stuck and have difficulty figuring out how to proceed.
But I think that's going to change VERY fast.
As noted by @blader, AutoGPTs are the top trending repos on GitHub.
@blader Due to the high interest from devs, we're witnessing daily improvements.
Numerous exciting experiments are underway, such as this one by @frankc with BabyAGI on Slack.
@blader @frankc And now people are making incredible forks of BabyAGI with improved memory and ability to accomplish tasks. Such as TeenageAGI which has improved memory.
@blader @frankc And even a web-based AutoGPT called AgentGPT that you can use with zero technical knowledge.
As you can see, innovative projects are already emerging despite the current limitations. And major players in the AI industry are taking notice.
For example, LangChain is now helping improve BabyAGI.
Ethan Mollick, a renowned professor from Wharton, also believes it's a big deal.
And the former head of AI at Tesla thinks AutoGPTs could be the next frontier.
Now, interest in AutoGPTs is expanding to Japan (where I live), partly due to the influence of Joi Ito, former head of the MIT Media Lab.
And a Stanford Research project used AutoGPTs to populate a virtual world.
As these projects continue to advance, their potential is immense. The possibilities for business applications are enormous.
In this thread with 3.6M views, @gregisenberg shares several great ideas of how businesses could use AutoGPTs.
To conclude:
1) AutoGPTs are exploding in popularity.
2) AutoGPTs could soon become very important as developers overcome current limitations.
3) Every business should be taking this seriously.
I created another thread that shares a bit of the story behind BabyAGI and its implications for Google if you're interested.
I plan to continue exploring AutoGPTs and experiment using them to grow @LoreAINews.

Already another update since this post last night. We're not slowing down.
Another big update. Looking like I'll have to create another thread.
