Sierra Club’s endorsement of the #FossilFuelTreaty comes just 48 hours ahead of a Senate Hearing in the State of California on a resolution that would see the world's largest subnational government also formally endorse the proposal.

Senior Director, International Climate & Policy Campaign at @SierraClub, @EcoBlaze made it clear that this was a call on California and the United States to join Pacific Island states in developing the #FossilFuelTreaty proposal.
The proposed #FossilFuelTreaty has 3 pillars:
❌ Non-Proliferation: end expansion of coal, oil & gas
📉 A Fair Phase Out: equitably wind down existing production in line with 1.5°C
☀️ A Global Just Transition to make sure no worker, community or country is left behind
