Mukhtar Ansari relative of ex-VP Hamid Ansari has more than 65 cases lodged against him.
He has been elected as MLA from Mau district UP for 5 times.

His paternal grandfather was Mukhtar Ahmed Ansari, an early president of the Indian National Congress in 1927 and also a part of Muslim league who divided India.
Mukhtar Ahmed Ansari is one of the founders of the JMI, he remained its Chancellor from 1928 till his death in 1936.
There are many court cases against him but not convicted in any of them till now, he is in jail for more than 15 years.
Previous Punjab Congress govt. kept him for 2.5 years by filling a fake Case against him in Mohali and saved him from UP govt.
Congress gave him 5 star facilities in Jail.
Recently UP police have announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for his wife Afsa Ansari. The police are also conducting search operations at various places to nab her, but she is not arrested so far.
He become so brazen that he even grabbed the land of Hindu shrines. He occupied 4.60 acres of land belonging to a 125-year-old Hindu temple at Dakshin Tola under Sadar tehsil in Mau. In this regard, social activist Chhotelal Gandhi filed a complaint at the police station in 2016.
Today Ghazipur's MP-MLA court will pronounce the verdict in a kidnapping and murder case against Mukhtar Ansari, and his elder brother & Ghazipur BSP MP Afzal Ansari.
