EVERTON REBUILD THREAD🧵

#EFC are a huge club in a dire situation - if they stay up they need a huge overall and they dont have the money to do that unless they sell current players.

With this in mind, ive put together a potential team they should look at if they stay up.

Firstly, they need money desperately and most of their team is not premier league standard. Unfortunately, to upgrade the squad as a whole they must sell some of their better players.

OUT (Using reported figures)

Pickford - 30m
Onana - 70m
DCL - 25m

Pickford is a huge player for them, but is better than relegation scraps and could fund upgrades elsewhere.

Onana is a very good player, but with a quoted 60-80m price tag, they might have to cash in to provide

Calvert lewin hasn't played much and could bring in around 25m.

To add, #EFC not spending any money in january suggests that they had debt to write off, considering they had a combined 100m from richarlison and gordon sales.

If they get rid of other players (injury prome / dead wood) they could recoup another 20m ish. (Mina, Davies, Holgate)

Whilst we see many teams buy a lot of players in a window, and the team struggles to gel - everton do need a complete overhaul.

I will be suggesting a fair few players, but attempt to keep enough starters to gel properly - and leaving money over for future windows.

Lets begin with the signings - it is important to note that all of these signings depend on everton remaining in the premier league.

the first position that Everton will need is a goalkeeper, with pickford leaving to provide funds in my scenario.

Goalkeeper - Anthony Patterson.

Like Pickford, a sunderland keeper would be going to merseyside. The 22 year old has a lot to improve but at a young age he has the potential to stay in the squad for over a decade or be sold for a higher fee in the future.

Current value = £10m

Centre Back - Amos Pieper.

Playing 28 games this season for Werder Bremen, Pieper is still young at 25 years old and is a beast in the making.

at 6 foot 3 he is a threat in the air. His defensive and even on the ball stats are pretty good.

Current value = £8m

Left Back - Kyle Walker-Peters

It seems certain that southampton will go down, which means Walker-Peters may be available for cheaper than he was valued a year ago.

Walker-Peters can play on both sides, and is very capable, certainly an upgrade.

Current Value = £20m

Centre Mid - Alan Varela

Varela is a brilliant young player who plays for Boca Juniors. He is 21 and is highly sought after so may not be an achivable signing but with the promise of premier league minutes it could happen.

Current Value = £15m

Left wing - Osame Sahraoui

One of my favourites is Sahraoui, very technical player who is having a good season.

At 21 years of age he is still a raw talent, and can play in the midfield too which provides great versitility.

Brilliant, Brilliant player.

Current Value = £8m

Striker - Gift Orban

10 goals in 11 games this season and only 20 years old, Orban is a natural bagsman. Conflicting reports around his price but should be within evertons range.

I have spoke of him before and he is certainly special.

Current Value = 20m

Right Wing - Nicholas Gonzalez

Perhaps the most expensive on this list, Gonzalez. Fiorentina have suggested that he is not for sale but every player has a price.

He is very skillful and a great presser which is valuable in dyche's team.

Current Value = £30m

Depth - Ashley Phillips

This is a bit of a tough call, but i believe Phillips will grow to be a top player from what ive seen. The 17 year old centre back is one for the future and would likely feature in the academy, could even be sold on for a high fee.

Current Value = £3m

Depth - Ryan Fraser

This may be an unpopular call, but at a cut price Ryan Fraser had his abilities limited by Steve Bruce and no longer is in Howe's plans.

He dropped off a few seasons ago, but he wasn't utilised properly. at 29 he still has something to offer.

Cost = £0-3m

Here is how the team could look.

Taking into consideration players sold as well as the players brought in, there would be around £35m left for future windows. #EFC

Of course, this whole thread is hypothetical and the everton board will have their own way of recruiting players. That being said, selling players is something they must do even if the players are popular, and that money must be spent wisely. #EFC

Rebuilds are of course easier to theorise rather than to achieve - But hey its just a bit of fun.

If everton get relegated it is certain that these signings will not come true - if this thread gets any attention i may do an alternate version for if they ARE relegated. #EFC

Stats messed up on this one, apologies.
