ALARMING INCIDENT IN BROAD DAYLIGHT IN BENGALURU!
Met with a terrifying incident on Saturday 29-Apr-2023. We were travelling on the Suranjan Das Road in our car, on the way to BEML circle.

My wife, my teen daughter and I were the only people in the car. We had taken this road for the first time and were heading towards the Old Madras Road. It's a four- lane road and we were driving on the right lane.

This incident occurred between 1:20pm and 1:35pm. We noticed there was considerably less traffic on that particular stretch.
All of a sudden, we noticed a man on a bike driving next to our car on the left side who started waving at us to stop.

We found this odd and did not stop the car and continued down the road. To our alarm, the man started chasing us and his gestures grew aggressive. This continued for 2-3 minutes. After that, another man on a bike joined him on the left lane and both of them started following us.

Then exactly opposite the Aeronautical Development Agency (Raman Gate), they accelerated and abruptly parked their bikes in front of our car, forcing us to stop. Both of them got off their bikes and started coming towards our car in a hostile manner.

One of them came towards the driver's side and the other one put his hands on the hood of the car. Sensing that we were in danger and that anything untoward could happen to us, I reversed the car and swerved to the left, dodging both the men and sped away.

Meanwhile, my wife frantically dialed 100, but there was no response. During this moment, both of them hit our car windows with their helmets. We sped away from the spot and reached the BEML signal, where there was traffic on the road and about 4 traffic policemen present.

To our shock, we realized that the men had chased us till the BEML signal and had probably backed off upon seeing the policemen. We could not take any photos or videos as we were extremely scared and terrified to the bone.

This was the first time such an incident had happened to us in 15 years of staying in Bangalore city and that too in broad daylight. My daughter and wife were extremely petrified.

Upon reaching BEML circle, we narrated the entire incident to the traffic policemen. They suggested us to go to Jeevan Bima Nagar police station and file a complaint. We went to the police station, police person asked us to wait. We waited for abt 1hr.

After that to ascertain whether that spot falls under their jurisdiction or not, they sent one policeman with us to show them the spot. On reaching there he told us that the place comes under another police station jurisdiction and asked us to go to that police station.

We didn't have any energy left and weren't in the mental state to go to another police station.
Having experienced this incident in broad daylight, all the more now worried that it could happen to anyone, anywhere, anytime!

It is really painful to see our very own "Namma Bengaluru" city getting famous for all the wrong reasons. #CareForBengaluru

Update: Thanks everyone for your overwhelming support and care!
I have filed a written complaint in Byappanahalli police station. Police is investigating the matter and have assured of necessary action.
