#sakuatsu pregnant Omi part 24 (final part!)

Kiyoomi opens his eyes and blinks groggily at the hospital ceiling. He's dazed and confused and he can't move his lower body. It's too bright in here and everything feels wrong, like he's hungover or something.
There's still a haze--

--around his mind, but he is slowly becoming aware that he's not alone in the room.
It takes an inordinate amount of effort to turn his head to one side to see Atsumu in the uncomfortable-looking chair by his bed.
"You look awful," Kiyoomi says, the words tumbling out of his--

--mouth before he can stop himself. Because Atsumu really does look like hell: dark circles under his eyes and he's been gnawing at his lips.
He laughs, though.
"Nothin' stops ya, does it Omi-kun?"
"What... what happened?" Kiyoomi remembers being bitten during Atsumu's rut.

He remembers there being a lot of blood and then contractions, Atsumu calling an ambulance and a vague conversation with the paramedics and then... then nothing.
Atsumu sniffs, oh, he's been crying. His eyes are all bloodshot and glassy.
"I, uh, I bit yer matin' gland but I also-

--managed to get a vein or somethin'? I dunno, they explained it ta me but I didn't... I can't remember exactly what it is." Atsumu's eyes are beginning to water and threatening to overflow. "Ya passed out in the ambulance, needed blood transfusion and a c-section."

Kiyoomi turns to stare at his belly. It doesn't look much smaller than before."
"They're not in there?" he asks quietly.
"Nah, uh, she's in the nicu- she's fine, they just gotta keep an eye on her for a coupl'a days to make sure."
"A girl? We have a girl?" Kiyoomi asks. He wants-

--to see his baby right now, the fact that he's not holding her right now is physically painful to him.
"Yeah, she's a real pretty lil thing. Loud too."
"I missed it."
"Huh?"
"I missed her being born."
"I'm sorry," Atsumu says, looking at his feet. "That's my fault, if I hadn't--

--bit ya we coulda waited til the induction."
"Did the bite take?" Kiyoomi knows that his line of questioning is erratic, and there are definitely more things he wants to know about everything, but his mind is bouncing all over the place as the anaesthesia wears off.

Atsumu is still staring at his shoes.
"Yeah, it took. We're, uh, bonded now."
Kiyoomi slumps back in his bed although he was hardly sitting up to begin with. They're mated now, in legal terms they're as good as married (unless Kiyoomi wants to make an appeal).
"I'm really sorry--

--Omi-kun, I lost control at the worst possible time and it nearly killed ya; it nearly killed our baby too."
"I'm alive," Kiyoomi says, as evenly as he can manage. "Our daughter is alive too."
"But ya didn't get a choice! It wasn't s'posed to go like that--"
"But it did,"--

--Kiyoomi cuts him off. "It happened the way it did. I guess... I guess this makes us even?"
There's a pause and then Atsumu starts to laugh, and Kiyoomi joins in even if the feeling is starting to return in his core and it feels fucking painful.
"Want ta see if I can wheel--

ya bed in ta see the baby?" Atsumu asks when he finally has breath.
"Please."

The 2021 Tokyo sees Japan qualify for the bronze medal match, and Atsumu get yellow-carded for spitting at the captain from Great Britain.
Their achievements are somewhat overshadowed the fact that every sports commentator and reporter asks then about their opinion on his bad--

--behaviour.
Meian punches Atsumu's shoulder in the locker room and Ojiro makes a show of pretending to weep. Suna stares at Kiyoomi and drawls "that's your baby daddy". No doubt he'll have clipped the moment Atsumu was shown the yellowcard from all angles together to post in--

--the group chat later.
Foster yells at Atsumu too, loud enough that they can hear it from his temporary office.
Kiyoomi would be more bothered by this (spitting is disgusting and makes him want to throw up at the thought) if it hadn't been for the fact that Atsumu's victim had--

--been making inappropriate comments about Kiyoomi.
In this case he's willing to let spitting slide.
Atsumu bears the weight of all the jokes and reprimands well, probably because they're at the Olympics and stand a good chance of getting on the podium.
They come onto the court-

--for warm-ups and pre-match interviews, although Kiyoomi has been successful in dodging reporters so far and he hopes to keep his streak going.
His sister is in the stands courtside with Atsumu's mother and Kiyoshi in her JNT onesie, so Kiyoomi goes to hug his daughter for good-

--luck. She's grown a lot since her time in the nicu but Kiyoomi will always fuss over whether she's drinking enough.
Happily, she grabs onto his finger and pulls it into her mouth; she's teething and this is her preferred method of dealing with it.
Kiyoomi had never imagined--

--that he'd be fine with someone else slobbering all over his hand like this. He finds it cute, even. Kiyoshi is the most adorable baby the world has ever known, and will ever know.
"Sakusa-senshu!"
It seems Kiyoomi has finally run out of luck and now has to do an impromptu--

--interview at last. He holds his daughter in front of him, as if she'll somehow protect him from being asked asinine questions.
"Good afternoon," he says icily, finger still being aggressively chomped on.
"I'm so glad to have caught you!" he feeling is not mutual. "I wanted to--

--ask you..."
Kiyoomi humours her with a few answers about how he's feeling about the game and their opponents, as well as some about his serves.
Then, as expected, the interview turns to Atsumu and his spitting.
"Sakusa-senshu, please could you tell me what you think of Miya--

--senshu and his behaviour? Do you think that he is a good role model for young alphas?"
Behind him, Kiyoomi knows that Atsumu's mother is grimacing.
"What do I think?" he muses and... well, Atsumu did tell him how this decision was up to him. Is this the wisest choice? Probably-

--not, but it's his mistake to make. "I think he's an excellent alpha; I'd have another baby with him."
Clip that for the group chat, Suna.

And that's it! I hope you've enjoyed it, and if you have or if you'd like to buy me a birthday coffee, please consider giving me a tip.
