#TodaysHeros are also known as Man's Best Friend Here are just 4 of the 36 furry hero's who have selflessly dedicated their loyalty to humans & been awarded The PDSA Dickin Medal for Conspicuous gallantry or devotion to duty while serving in military conflict.

BOB the Dog: A Labrador/Collie Cross, worked on patrol at Green Hill, North Africa; served with the 6th Battalion Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regiment, alongside Sergeant RE Cleggett. They carried out patrol work, Bob's warnings of enemy activity saving the lives of many soldiers

RIP the Dog: A Mixed breed Terrier, was found by an Air Raid Warden. He was adopted by the Southill Street Air Raid Patrol their mascot and very first Search and Rescue Dog. RIP led to over 100 lives being saved in a single year.

JET the Dog: a black German Shepherd Dog, a full pedigree - He was loaned to be trained at the War Dogs School from 9 months old, where he was trained in anti-sabotage work - he saved the lives of over fifty people trapped in bombed buildings.

ROB the Dog: Was a Collie who took part in over 20 parachute landings during North African Campaign with an Infantry unit & later served with an SAS Unit as patrol & guard. His presence with these parties saved many of them from discovery and subsequent capture or destruction.

There is nothing quite like the relationship between humans and dogs. They are amazingly intelligent, caring and loyal animals and rightly deserve the title of Mans Best Friend - We thank all the service animals & those that love & protect us

Forever thankful for their bravery & companionship xx
