It was indeed a great pleasure to, on behalf of the Governor of Lagos state @jidesanwoolu, break the ground for the commencement of construction of the ultramodern Custodian Accident and Emergency Center situated within the premises of the Epe General Hospital.

The construction of the trauma care center is supported by the custodian social responsibility foundation, a member of the @CustodianPLC.

The ultramodern center is in keeping with Mr. Governor’s Medical Infrastructure Transformation Agenda and in furtherance of the

administration’s strategy to efficiently manage road traffic accidents and reduce fatalities.

@followlasg in the last two years has ramped up its ambulance services with skilled paramedics and a fleet of over 30 modern intensive care ambulances including water ambulances

to provide emergency care to hard-to-reach riverside communities.

@jidesanwoolu's administration recognises the need for stand-alone emergency facilities for trauma and critical emergencies. To this end, stand-alone emergency facilities are built around major highways across

the state in addition to maintaining accident and emergency departments in its over 30 General Hospitals.

As part of the effort to reduce accidents, @followlasg banned the use of motorcycles (Okada) for commercial transportation in no fewer than 10 local govt areas.

The ban on commercial motorcycle has led to about 30% reduction in road accidents.

Road traffic accidents in Lagos State average about 32 per 1000 inhabitants being one of the highest records in cities across the world.

To this extent, ensuring safety on our roads through
.

provision of good and motorable roads, proper signage, and proper conduct of traffic becomes a compelling priority for the government.

Well-equipped and efficient ambulances services is critical to responding to emergencies and timely treatment of victims.

The construction of the Custodian Accident and Emergency Centre is therefore expected to be completed within 18 months and fully equipped to provide efficient services #ForAGreaterLagos
