The ironic fate of Geto Suguru: an explorative character study
/
๐Ÿงต: A thoroughly extensive thread (PART 2)

As time passed, the figurative gap between Geto and Gojo that represented strength grew wider, which in turn wedged a literal physical barrier between the two. This has propelled Gojo to become the singular 'strongest', unintentionally leaving Geto behind as a result. With nothing+

But his own haunting thoughts to keep him company on most days, Suguru was forced to acknowledge the imbalance of the world he and his fellow sorcerers worked to the bone to protect. It was even more glaringly apparent for him, considering the nature of his technique. If we were+

To take into consideration how a sorcerer's perception of the world is shaped by their technique, then it is no wonder Geto was being pulled from both polarised ends due to his internal dilemma. his CT forces him to absorb the physical manifestation of the most horrid, and vile+

attributes of humanity, all the while desperately trying to see the good in the aforementioned. Yet the truth of the matter is that he will always suffer, whether directly or indirectly, through being a sorcerer. For the longest time,he was willing to tolerate the awfully pungent+

Taste of curses for the sake of helping those in need. But to what end exactly?! Everyone who is an active member of the system is well aware of the ceaseless cycle of death and rebirth of curses. Yet the ones who hold all the power were never hesitant to send these emotionally+

Vulnerable teenagers to the front lines to face incomparable horror and cruelty. The dysfunctional structure of the system came to the surface when after assigning a pair of 16 year olds (no matter the strength) a crucial mission, it was apparently perfectly reasonable to double+

Their work load without taking into consideration the psychological ramifications of incessant taxing labor. To put it simply, these young teens' lives seem to be meaningless in the grand scheme of things.Suguru came to this horrifying realisation after learning about Tengen's+

Newly stabilised state. This proved to him that all Riko's life amounted to is the splatter of her blood that will act as an everlasting reminder of just how little value her life (and by extension her death) held to everyone, bar him and those very few who were closest to her.

By that point, work related death wasn't necessarily a foreign concept to Geto. However, the gravity of the matter settled in when greeted with the mutilated corpse of Haibara. What was even more jarring was gaining the awareness that the lives of his peers are replaceable.

The moment someone dies, another, more capable sorcerer is sent in their stead to finish the job. This gave him more clarity on just how dehumanised shamans are, particularly Gojo and himself since they are expected to just 'fill in' whenever the time calls. Being referred to as+

Pawns doesn't even cut it in this case. While operating under the orders of the higher ups, they have no choice but to persevere and keep the system intact. All that has been mentioned thus far has contributed to the creation of his warped ideology. Which is why It's irritating+

To come across the pushed narrative stating that yuki is somehow responsible for Geto's defection. While Yuki's shared knowledge has provided a basis for his misguided beliefs,it goes without saying that HE had chosen his own path. His defection has been triggered by a culmination+

Of both internal and external factors. We cannot credit a single instance for his actions when they were a result of a chain reaction of events. The final nail in the coffin being his encounter with the abused twins. Perhaps he saw himself in them, for he could've easily ended up+

In the same position if It weren't for his enrollment into jujutsu high. Shamans ARE considered freaks of nature in the eyes of the mundane individual. So it was no surprise to see the horrid treatment of mere children for what they have no grasp or understanding of. In that+

Moment, Geto's consideration for his own kind managed to stifle and bury what remained of his wavering faith in non sorcerers, and there was no back pedalling from that point onwards. To cement his decision, and further prove his dedication to his cause to none other than+

Himself, he felt justified in granting his parents the same gruesome death as the other non sorcerers who's lives he snuffed all in the name of his deluded vision for the world. And despite his acknowledgement that it is most likely impossible for him to truly accomplish his+

Overly ambitious (twisted) goals, he still continued down his chosen path. Repeating an endless mantra of discrimination against the majority of humankind, which had ultimately altered his perception of himself and the world. The fact that there came a point where his ambitions+

Took priority over the life of fellow sorcerers whom he deemed equal is what inadvertently brought about his own demise. A semblance of credence could have been seen in his ideology, for it is undeniably true that sorcerers are 'chained' by the overwhelming masses. Yet the truth+

Of the matter remains to be that his extremist approach has been entirely erroneous. In a way, the moment of Geto's birth had predetermined his wretched fate. It could be argued that a not so pleasant life had always been in store for him due to the essence of his technique.

The tragic irony of Geto's life lies in his dichotomous mindset, which was molded by unfortunate circumstances. Leading to a chosen path that violently contradicts with what he preached during the days of naive youth. Yet it doesn't end there, fate happens to be an unforgiving+

Mistress, one that played a cruel joke on him by offering the motionless husk of his body to Kenjaku,a man too eager to bring forth an age of curses to further plague the world for his own amusement, when Geto strove to discard of such filth. How ironic is it that Suguru's corpse+

Is now puppeteered by the same man who took charge of the higher ups, the ones who have sustained a dysfunctional system that pushed Geto to a breaking point. It would seem that in both life and death, Suguru has always been bound to a fate of ruin and exploitation on both ends.

I have never imagined that this thread would end up being this long T-T it goes to show just how much care I hold in my heart for Geto's character. If even just one pereon manages to get to the end of this,I cant properly express just how delighted I am for grabbing your attention
