Star Trek: The Next Generation: Klingon Honor Guard
A first person shooter game where you play as a new recruit for the Honour Guard and need to investigate an assassination attempt on Chancellor Gowron.
This was the first game to be released using the Unreal engine, with the European release of Honor Guard coming out before Unreal itself. It used a beta version of the engine and the gameplay and enemy AI is very close to Unreal.
The focus on Klingons, as well as the complete lack of humans, meant that the game could be violent, as colourful non-red blood is completely fine, according to classification boards. You fight other Klingons, Andorians, Nausicaans and various creatures.
I did find a lot of levels to be quite tedious, having to spend ages looking for keys to progress. The best levels are those with a bit more structure, based on space stations and an Andorian ship. The layouts make more sense and they are nicer to navigate.
There's also a level on a Ktinga, where you have to separate and blow up the stardrive section as you make your way to the front of the ship. The game has some very nice space sections - but make sure you find and equip your spacesuit and magnetic boots.
While it's fun using the d'k tahg and bat'leth to get up close, some of the later weapons are very creative, including a buzzsaw weapon.
Klingon Honor Guard can be frustrating at times, but overall, it's good fun.
One tiny nitpick: your character often yells out "I will cut you up like gach" as an insult...but as gach are eaten alive, Klingons don't cut them up.
