If your twist out looks like Lord Danbury’s then you need to read this 🧵 . Black Girl Curls is going to share the 5 Tips to Avoid Having a Twist Out that is Giving Lord Danbury.
1) Make sure your hair is throughly cleansed, conditioned and detangled. It is very important to start with a clean canvas when we are setting and styling our hair.
2) Learn the proper technique and application for achieving a well set twist. Executing a proper twist will allow for you to achieve the desired form of this manipulated curl that you desire
3) Let’s skip the LOC or LCO (leave-in, oil, cream) method all together and let’s choose either a cream or foam with hold to set and style our twist with. Hair styling involves using the appropriate styler with hold and the LOC method just doesn’t do that
4) Let the twist dry THOROUGHLY THROUGHOUT! Black Girl Curls suggest sitting under a hood dryer for at least 30 minutes and let the hair cure for 24-36 hours before taking the twist apart. In order to change the form of the hair it needs to be able to dry completely in that form.
5)If you would like definition from root to end, opt for a flat twist instead. Flat Twisting allows us to create definition that goes from root to end while minimizing “puffy roots”
This is our year 2023 and we will not be out here giving Lord Danbury twist outs. BTW…this is a 6 or 7 day old twist out.
