Five of our academics have been awarded Royal Society of Chemistry Prizes this year! 🎆🏅
Read on for details about all of them below... 👇
@RoySocChem #RSCPrizes
Dr Josef Boronski (@JosefBoronski) has received the Dalton Emerging Researcher Prize for his groundbreaking investigations into actinide-cyclobutadienyl chemistry #RSCPrizes
Prof Tom Brown (@Prof_Tom_Brown) has been awarded the Khorana Prize for major contributions in the nucleic acid field, including the synthesis of biocompatible artificial DNA, and molecular tools for genetic analysis and diagnostics #RSCPrizes
Prof Darren Dixon (@dixon_group) gets the Tilden Prize for the discovery, development and applications of iridium-catalysed reductive functionalisation of amides and lactams #RSCPrizes
Prof Stephen Fletcher (@spfletcher) receives the Merck, Sharp and Dohme Prize for the development of asymmetric Suzuki-Miyaura-type and other catalytic cross-coupling reactions with racemic starting materials #RSCPrizes
And finally, Prof Ludmilla Steier (@LudmillaSteier) wins the Materials Chemistry Early Career Prize for seminal contributions to the understanding of defect chemistry in semiconducting materials and interfacial energetics in photocatalytic and photovoltaic devices #RSCPrizes
