Did you know that 53% of single men don't approach women because they're scared of coming off as "creepy"?
This means that single women are going to have to step up their game and make the first move...
(thread)
Now, before you say that's not the traditional way to date, women back in the day used to do a little thing called "dropping the hanky."
They would drop their handkerchief near a man they were interested in, he'd pick it up, bring it over to her, and then start a conversation.
It was their way of "masterminding" the first move while still letting the man be the one to initiate.
So here are 8 ways to make the first move on a guy (without actually making the first move 😉):
1. Find ways to be around him
Go to community events or groups you have reason to believe he’ll be at.
(A workout class, Bible study, concert, sports game, etc.)
Stop by his place of work if it feels natural to (like if he works at a cafe or a clothing store).
2. Smile when you catch his eye
Our natural reaction when we catch the eye of a guy we like is to quickly look away.
Instead, hold eye contact with him for 2-3 seconds, AND THEN look away.
And if you really want him to get the message, do a double-take a few seconds later!
3. Give him a compliment
Tell him you like his hair, or that his shirt looks really good on him, or that he smells nice.
Just make it a compliment that you wouldn't give to just anyone, but instead, one that hints at a deeper interest in HIM.
4. Take interest in him and ask questions
Anyone who makes us feel interesting, we're going to automatically feel more drawn to.
He’s likely used to being the one to show interest, so he’ll not only be intrigued by the change of pace, but want to keep the conversation going.
5. Find something you have in common
Having things in common makes you instantly feel closer to someone.
Do you watch the same TV show? Like the same author? Go to the same gym?
The next time you’re chatting with your crush, figure out something that you can bond over!
6. Create an excuse to give him your number
While we'd all like for our crush to ask for our number, we can help him along without coming on too strong.
Maybe you "lost" your phone and need him to call it 😉
Maybe you just want to send him the info for a group outing! 🤷♀️
7. Allow "accidental" touching
If you happen to come into close contact, while you'd typically jerk away, allow your knees to continue touching or arms to keep brushing against each other.
He'll immediately pick up on this and feel more comfortable making a move.
8. Don't play games
Don't wait forever to respond to his texts, play hard to get, or say you have plans when you don't.
This is only going to make him feel more insecure with you and, therefore, less likely to make a move.
