There's a bunch of "alt media" war pundits like Macgregor who've been spewing a nonstop geyser of bullshit for the past year and a half, but they inhabit media ecosystems with zero penalty for chronic, flagrant wrongness. No factual standards, no capacity for embarrassment
July 8, 2022: Macgregor claims the war "is largely over" as far as the Russians are concerned, with the exceptions of Kharkiv and Odessa, because Russia "didn’t want to build a huge army"
(Two months later: Putin annexes four totally different oblasts, orders mass mobilization)
March 3, 2023: Macgregor claims "Russia will annihilate the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This regime will not survive. And as a result, NATO won't survive. NATO will crumble"
Do you see how this is presented as a fact claim, but nobody cares whether it's shown to be factual or not
If you're still rationalizing this outlandishly bad track record of endless analytical failure, you're really no better than the people who watch and send money to those TV preachers. In fact it's way more embarrassing, because you consider yourself a savvy online media consumer
Have some self-respect and stop trying to justify why having crankishly over-hyped, under-sourced, wish-casting bullshit piped into your computer or phone for 16 months straight should actually be seen as a credit to the parties involved in the production/consumption of bullshit
