ok, gonna explain the stuff about past #renheng (#xingyue/#yingfeng) being implied to be engaged. this includes:

1. what the engagement typo is about
2. how unlikely it is to make, and keep such a typo for 3 patches (as of now)
3. some extras

Explaining it simply first, the word 换盅 (engagement ceremony) was "typo-ed" into the bracers relic lore. It was used to describe Blade and Danfeng sharing company and drinking together in the past. 换盅 is an engagement ceremony that involves the act of exchanging cups.

The meaning of 换盅 (per Baidu)
baike.baidu.com/item/%E6%8D%A2…

As for where the typo is located:

1. The typo is ONLY in the CN version (both simplified and traditional).
2. The typo is in this relic.

Now, for the reason we viewed it as a typo.

1. Bcus its hard to believe delulu becoming reality
2. The word doesn't get translated into other language versions.
3. (explained in the next tweet)

Supposedly, the proper phrase is 推杯(换盏), not 推杯(换盅).

Because 推杯换盏 is an actual idiom that means (pushing cups, exchanging containers): describing a good relationship (regardless platonic/romantic). & would be fitting in this line.

Due to how similar the words look, it's natural to think, it probably really was a typo. And of course, we can speculate that.

Except it's still quite unlikely to be unintentional, based on how we write things in CN. So onto explaining why it's hard to make and keep this typo.

1.

"Proper word":
推杯(换盏=huan zhan)
"Typo-ed word":
推杯(换盅=huan zhong)

As you can see, -an & -ong are rather far apart. If they're going to typo a (zhan) word, I would've expected it to be another (zhan) word.

+ a pic of my keyboard to show how far apart -an & -ong are.

2.

Now even if the writer DID accidentally typo in a (zhong) word. 盅 is an uncommon character. Typing in the pinyin would first give you more common words like 中,钟,种,重 etc.

Example pics (literally used a different phone for this to make sure there's no history)

3. Please, they have a whole team of writers and reviewers. You seriously think it would bypass all those people?

Stuff about this typo also blew up on Lofter and Weibo. It's also been 3 patches. I assume HYV is aware of this yet chose to pretend not to know.

Now for extras, here is the EN version:

Also, some people have said "beloved" is close enough as a translation or localisation of 换盅. Unfortunately, no. Because 挚爱 is beloved, a word found in the other lines.

Now for this last part, if anyone has the links or pics to Lofter or Weibo posts regarding this typo, please tell me so I can add them here. This is all I have 😅:

also this one jp tweet that mentioned abt it too:
