Today's #VideoWednesday is a 2 for 1 deal. We will cover the September 1993 wave of videos in the Authentic and Original #LooneyTunes Cartoons Series. And the October 1993 UK VHS, "Stark Raving Looneys".

This wave of the Authentic and Original Looney Tunes Cartoons Series consists of five character collections. And notably, it is the last wave of videos to be released on the Betamax format.

Each video in this wave released on September 22, 1993 began with a short animated opening of Bugs Bunny spinning the "Warner Bros. Family Entertainment" logo around the small Warner Bros. shield. Elmer gets his own collection this time.

First up, "Bugs Bunny's Hare-Brained Hits". It includes the following. "My Bunny Lies over the Sea" directed by Chuck Jones. "Big House Bunny" with Yosemite Sam directed by Friz Freleng.

"Baton Bunny" directed by Chuck Jones. "Captain Hareblower" with Yosemite Sam, directed by Friz Freleng. "Hillbilly Hare" directed by Robert McKimson.

This tape offers a good selection of shorts. Presentation and variety is the main draw.

Next up, "Elmer Fudd's School of Hard Knocks". "Each Dawn I Crow" directed by Friz Freleng. "Pests for Guests" with the Goofy Gophers, directed by Friz Freleng.

"Upswept Hare" with Bugs Bunny, directed by Robert McKimson. "Don't Axe Me" with Daffy Duck, directed by Robert McKimson. "Robot Rabbit" with Bugs Bunny, directed by Friz Freleng.

Elmer's tape is quite surprising. And this includes many rarely seen shorts like "Each Dawn I Crow" and "Upswept Hare".

Next up, Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote's Crash Course. All are directed by Chuck Jones. "Going! Going! Gosh!', "Ready.. Set.. Zoom!"...

"There They Go-Go-Go!", "Scrambled Aches", and "Hip Hip- Hurry!".

This collection included some new VHS entries. Overall, a solid Road Runner and Coyote collection.

Next, Sylvester and Tweety's Tale Feathers. All are directed by Friz Freleng. "Muzzle Tough", "A Street Cat Named Sylvester"...

"Satan's Waitin'", "Dr. Jerkyl's Hide", a solo Sylvester short with Spike (Alfie) and Chester, and "Ain't She Tweet".

This Sylvester and Tweety tape is quite strong. Satan's Waitin', A Street Cat Named Sylvester, and Dr. Jerkyl's Hide are highlights.

Finally, Yosemite Sam's Yeller Fever. All cartoons are directed by Friz Freleng and feature Bugs Bunny.
"Hare Trimmed", "Southern Fried Rabbit"...

"This Is a Life?", "Hare Lift", and "Bunker Hill Bunny".

Yeller Fever has a good selection of Yosemite Sam shorts including the rarely seen Southern Fried Rabbit.

This concludes the September 1993 wave. And it is an overall great collection. Five cartoons on one tape (five total) make it the perfect choice for family viewing. With rarely seen shorts and fan favorites, this is highly recommended.
