Twitter's new privacy policy takes effect on 29 September

It gives X the right to use your posts - including DMs - & all your data - including phone, email, biometrics (e.g. face scans & eye scans) to train their AI & to share with any partner X wants👇

“I do not accept that Twitter has deteriorated in any way since Elon Musk took over”

A week before Twitter’s change in privacy policy, some questions for @elonmusk

1. What biometric information will be collected & what are the intended uses?

How will X ensure that that the data of X’s 530 million users isn’t used for unlawful purposes?

Twitter's privacy policy changes on Friday

For those of you asking how to archive all of your tweets before deleting you account see this👇(via @RicksDailyTips)

QUESTION: Will deleting your account delete data from both ends or will X still have access? ricksdailytips.com/download-twitt…

The sharing of DMs (direct messages) raise concerns, particularly as Twitter has long been a platform used by activists

Will historical DM's be shared?

Are there any encryption standards on these at all?

Online privacy should be central to responsible social media platforms

Tmw, X/Twitter's privacy policies change

Earlier this month, Twitter’s former director of security engineering, testified that he had “ongoing questions about @elonmusk’s commitment to the overall security & privacy of the organisation”

"X will begin to have users verify their identity by having them submit a selfie alongside a govt issued ID, requiring users to consent to Twitter storing their info for 30 days & sharing it with an identity verification company based in Israel" @PCMag👇

If you'd like to delete all your tweets/X posts for free you can go to @github - a platform & cloud-based service for software development & version control

But someone on this thread says that it may take 30 days to deactivate your account... github.com/g-h-0-S-t/dele…

Will the changes to Twitter’s privacy policy comply with GDPR & EU #DataProtection laws?

I have been trying to find out

My fear is that @elonmusk shares the philosophy of his former PayPal business partner, Peter Thiel

“Ask forgiveness, not permission”

If you’re concerned about Twitter/X’s new data privacy policy but just don’t want to leave:

Go to settings

Go to DMs page & click the settings wheel

Click menus for

-Account
-Security
-Monetization
-Premium
-Privacy & safety
-Notifications
-Accessibility
-Additional resources

Like all such sites, Twitter/X has already been collecting large swathes of data

So no change there

But as @Caitlin_Welsh/@franticnews write in @mashable they “will now collect a lot more personal data & use it in new ways…The changes aren't particularly good for your privacy”
