🤯a berlin gallery invites a russian to curate an exhibition about genocide in Ukraine. the curator steals and appropriates from Ukrainian writer Victoria Amelina, who was murdered by russians — despite that Amelina was explicitly for boycott of collabs with russian citizens
while appropriating and abusing Ukrainian art — including Ukrainian artists murdered or kidnapped by russians, the curator names the entire exhibition after Alexander Kluge, a german boomer who calls to stop weapons supply to Ukraine and leave Ukrainians to be mass-slaughtered
the russian curator also insists that the war started only on 24.02.2022 — a well-known for Ukrainians marker of russian imperial arrogance that embraces the 2014 russian invasion of Ukraine and the following ethnic cleansing of stolen lands

this is classic pattern of russians stealing and appropriating the art and the stories of the victims their country genocides. generation after generation. nation after nation. nothing changes, and the western establishment keeps enabling this obscene pillage
this travesty of imperial and colonial arrogance is proudly sponsored by Berlin’s Schinkel Pavillon, @SenKultGZ and @BeLapoBi
to bring at least some justice in the face of this obscene abuse of Ukrainian stories and voices, let me share an essay by late Victoria Amelina on the long history of russian national hobby of slaughtering and appropriating Ukrainian artists
