Tonight's #VideoWednesday, we will look at the last two LaserDisc sets in #LooneyTunes history.

- The Golden Age of Looney Tunes Vol. 5, released in April 1997.
- Bugs and Friends, Japanese LaserDiscs released in 1998.

The Golden Age of Looney Tunes Vol. 5, priced at $99.99, is the last set in MGM/UA's long running collector's series.

This featured all new dubbed version prints by Turner which were commissioned in 1995.

Even though Turner had been acquired by Time Warner the previous year, the set was still released by MGM/UA Home Video as Turner's contract with MGM for home video releases remained in place until 1999.

Volume 5 is full of one-shot cartoons and rarely seen favorites especially from Tex Avery and Friz Freleng. Regardless, it is still another well produced set from George Feltenstein and Jerry Beck.

With a total of 333 shorts, The Golden Age of Looney Tunes on five boxed sets marked not only one of the best LaserDisc collections ever conceived, but a significant landmark in the history of physical media. Eventually, George and Jerry will be teaming up again in the DVD age.

We will cover the 1998 Japanese LaserDisc set, Bugs and Friends, tomorrow. That’s it for #VideoWednesday.
