Alright guess I'm gonna make that megathread of Canon Wriolette interactions and official content (web events, official art etc). Follow along ig 🧵

First up:
Neuvilette web event:
A melusine is briefing him about daily events. She explains that she ran into Wriothesley and there are two available options.
One option is where the melusine suggests Wrio came to the Palais to hand in his resignation. Neuvilette is NOT happy

They appear together in 4.1 patch's official preview art

4.1 Archon quest:
Neuvilette informs us of our mission and his 'personal' relationship with the administrator of the Fortress

'He is a very shrewd fellow'

Neuvilette asks us to be on our best behavior and not create any trouble for Wrio also warning us that Wrio is extremely observant. Seems like he knows the Duke fairly well.

Over dinner, Wrio reassures Sigewinne about Neuvilette. They meet for work quite often apparently. Wrio even comments how "talking with him feels quite effortless".
Note this down bc I will talk about this later lmao

The relationship between Palais Mermonia and the Fortress is very cordial, considering how Wrio goes out of his way to make sure we are not treated unfairly. Clearly both of them have the greatest respect for each other.

Wrio banters with Clorinde. They have an easygoing relationship and Neuvilette is often the subject of their friendly chats? Perhaps these three are closer than we think.

This isn't the first or last instance of Wrio teasing an exasperated Neuvilette.
But Wrio drops it, knowing this is not the right time for jokes.
Over the years, Wrio has probably noticed how "problems" like primordial water leaks seem to vanish after Neuvilette deals with them

This, clearly was not the first time these 2 have watched Neuvilette quietly work behind the scenes to avert a national crisis.
They continue to banter like it's just another day at the office.

Neuvilette takes great care to assure that no damage is sustained by the exiles at the Fortress. There is also a lore reason of the close relationship between him and The Fortress that goes beyond shipping goggles. I'll explain it later as it is related to weapon lore.

They seem to interact and refer to each other as close acquaintances and equals. And yet Wrio completely blows off the idea of having Neuvilette stay at the Fortress for an extended amount of time. Sigewinne is, of course, the only exception for Neuvilette 🥹🥰

NEUVILETTE STORY QUEST:
A few minutes into the quest we read through some documents on Neuvilette's table at his office. One of them briefly talks about Wrio's case history.

Even Paimon was weirded tf out....
That stern "Wriothesley >:( "

Wriothesley is the first one to actually tell him exactly what Neuvilette needs to hear.

Vautrin's conviction and exile has been one of Neuvilette's deepest wounds..

And Wriothesley took it upon himself to investigate this issue without Neuvilette even asked for it, uncovering the real truth and lifting that centuries-long burden from his shoulders

When Neuvilette reminisces about Fontaine, in his memories wriothesley's first arrival at Meropide features alongside others

Moving on to Wrio's Voicelines about Neuvilette.

Took the liberty to add some music in the bg bc this looks like it's straight from some kdrama

While we are on the topic of rain, here are some of Neuvilette's thoughts about rain.

Now as for the interpretation of this (and this is just my personal hc) - the 'rain' represents 'justice' as viewed from the eyes of the rulers of the land (celestia and the archon).
Note how one of Neuvilette's idles is him 'reversing' falling rain and sending it back up

Neuvillette, as an entity whose identity is related to water, should ideally enjoy being in the rain. And yet he longs to be 'free' to enjoy the rain without having to think about the suffering that humans have to endure at the hands of the legal system and society.

Wriosthesley finding him on a rainy day and holding an umbrella over his head to shield him from the rain is an incredibly tender and significant gesture, even without shipping goggles.

Neuvillette is most animated when talking about his little Sigewinne 🥺
Safe to say he tries to check on her as much as can which means quick visits to the Fortress in between Trials at the Opera Epiclese

Wriothesley WEB EVENT:
Aife is back! Wrio has come to drop off a file for Neuvilette to check and you can choose the option mentioning his 'resignation' (seems to be a common inside joke between them) which will show Wrio getting annoyed

Moving on to Wrio's character stories:
A poignant moment when Neuvilette meets the new Duke of Meropide, the same boy he had sent there to be exiled and repent for his crimes - now a reformed man who has earned his right to rule the fortress under the sea.

This was the first time Wrio wore is cryo vision proudly on his person, and Neuvillette was there to witness it, even expressing that he is glad that Wrio has found his place in life, something that Neuvillette has 'worked hard on' according to his own lines about Wrio

Next up:
Archon quest 4.2
After serving our sentence when we're finally leaving, Sigewinne and Wrio are delighted to hear that we're going to meet Neuvilette after this. Wrio worries about Neuvilette's workload

While Navia rests, Paimon tries to engage in a bit of small talk with Neuvilette (and fails, remember how Wrio said Neuvilette is 'easy to talk to'. Seems like he's only ever interested when the topic is about his little girl (or the Duke of Meropide)

Clorinde and Neuvilette banter among themselves too apparently. With Wrio's notorious camera-shyness being the topic of gossip?

Finally, this moment...Even Paimon finds it suspicious lmao

And indeed, we find him at the entrance to the Fortress, and as the curtain falls on this act of our journey Neuvilette's final lines are spoken with the Fortress as the backdrop..
