Top 10 read this year. No particular order 📚
1. @fabratton Stronger than Death. I've read it twice.

2. Erwin Mortier, Stammered Songbook.

3. Everything by Annie Ernaux, but I'll add this one, Simple Passion.

4. Cheri by Jo Ann Beard. Unbelievable writing. Blew me away.

5. Walking Through Clear Water In A Pool Painted Black, Cookie Mueller. I could write an essay on this. What a discovery.

6. Close To Home, by @michaelmagee__ (the fellas are well travelled).

7. Spent Light by @larapawson. This book, like Lara's previous book, has had a profound effect on me. I suspect I'll be writing much more about it. Publishing early 2024.

8. The Celestial Realm by @Molly_Hennigan. A deeply affecting, beautiful memoir.

9. Are You Somebody by Nuala O'Faolain. I became slightly obsessed with her writing this year, having discovered a pile of her books wrapped in a pink ribbon in the charity shop (with notes and newspaper cuttings inserted between pages).

10. Motion Sickness by @glossitis. One of those writers whose book you order the minute you spot it.

FORGOT A VERY IMPORTANT ONE. (I've probably forgotten a few, tbf).
This book is stunning, inspiring, melancholy, and brilliant.
I Could Read The Sky by Timothy O'Grady and Steve Pyke.
