Now an optional time of reflection before the Rosary (which begins at the top of the hour).
In the Name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
St. Thomas Becket, pray for us!
Christ is born for us; come, let us adore him.
Fullness of peace will dawn on the day of the Lord, and he will be our King.
You have been endowed from your birth with princely gifts; in eternal splendor, before the dawn of light on earth, I have begotten you.
—Antiphons
He shall endure like the sun and the moon
from age to age.
He shall descend like rain on the meadow,
like raindrops on the earth.
In his days justice shall flourish
and peace till the moon fails.
He shall rule from sea to sea,
from the Great River to earth’s bounds.
—Ps 72
Let us give thanks to God our Father,
— R: because he has rescued us from the power of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of his beloved Son.
Every good and perfect gift comes down to us from above, from the Father of light.
— R: Because he has rescued us…
Canticle - Colossians 1:12-20
Christ the first-born of all creation and the first-born from the dead
In the beginning, before time began, the Word was God; today he is born, the Savior of the world.
—Antiphon
You directed the wise men to adore your Son,
— receive the homage of our faith and prayer.
After the wise men, you called all people out of the darkness & into your wonderful light, so that at Jesus’ name every knee should bend,
— make us go forth as witnesses of the good news.
The Magnificat, Luke 1:46-55.
The King of heaven humbled himself to be born of a virgin, that he might restore man to the kingdom he had lost.
—Antiphon

We are in a spiritual war. Stand up for what is true. Have nothing to do with evil, with darkness, with lies. Mortal sin kills the life of grace in the soul. Repent and believe the Gospel! Become a saint and be not afraid!
The Rosary continues in this thread at the top of the hour. See you in a few minutes.
