This is one of the writers who defined “scalping” as "a gruesome practice taken up by white colonists who sought to eradicate Native Americans” for the @AP: @ByMoriah
(AP later stealth edited the story to tweak the definition somewhat - )

@AP @ByMoriah This is the other writer who defined “scalping” as "a gruesome practice taken up by white colonists who sought to eradicate Native Americans” before @AP stealth-edited the farcical definition: @cbinkley

It can be interesting and instructive to, at times, put names and faces to these things.
Here’s how the @AP now defines “scalping”: "a gruesome practice taken up by white colonists who sought to eradicate Native Americans and also used by some tribes against their enemies."
Completely ahistorical, farcical, CRT/Marxist definition from the “neutral” outlet.
While obviously there were instances of colonists scalping American Indian enemies, that is a completely one-sided whitewash of a brutal inter-ethnic conflict. Note also that the @AP broadly ascribes genocidal ambitions to all “white colonists” while begrudgingly allowing that “some” Indian tribes “also” practiced scalping—as a complete afterthought.
