SitRep - 31/01/24 - 207 Defenders returned and a big attack on Crimea.

As usual we start with Russian losses over the past 24 hours. We also include footage of visually confirmed destroyed or damaged equipment or personnel.

Out of 20 Shahed's, 14 were shot down. It seems like Russia is now resorting back to drone strikes only and does not have a big stock of missiles to continuously attack Ukraine.

More drones were destroyed during the day by anti air units from the 47th mechanized brigade.

Near Mar'inka, both Russian personnel and equipment were destroyed in attempts to get closer to Ukrainian positions.

Overnight, an oil refinery in St. Petersburg was attacked. Until now, no visible damage was confirmed but it says a lot that Ukraine is now able to overcome such large distances and is able to bypass Russian air defense.

A Russian T-80BVM destroyed near Avdiivka.

Logistical vehicles on the left bank are being targeted by Ukrainian Territorial Defense forces.

A Russian soldier surrendered himself after being lucky not to die from a grenade.

In Krasnodar, a fire broke out. Locals reported that prior to the fire an explosion was heard.

A Baba-Yaga drone attacked a Russian warehouse and destroyed several cars and killed and injured Russian personnel.

Ukraine attacked occupied Crimea. Multiple reports of incoming missiles and working air defense were coming in. Russians said nothing happened and debris fell... Well, Ukraine was able to strike Belbek airfield. We await satelite images for confirmation.

Footage of the failed attack on Novomykhailiivka yesterday appeared. In total 11 pieces of heavy equipment were destroyed.

Lets continue with the general events. As expected by many, the EU will fall short on its promise to deliver 1 million shells to Ukraine by spring. It will only be about 600.000 at most.

In an attempt to speed up negotiations on a new national security package that includes support for Ukraine, Stoltenberg visited House speaker Johnson.

The best news of the day. 207 Ukrainian defenders were returned from captivity. Almost half are defenders of Mariupol. Soldiers of the Armed Forces, the National Guard and units of the State Border Service and the National Police.

Putin made some crazy remarks on the Il-76 crash of which he stated was shot down by a 'US supplied Patriot air defense system after conducting investigations'.

EU member states have already allocated €21 billion in military aid to Ukraine this year only.

In regards to aid, Umerov send an urgent letter to EU allies to tell about severe shortage of artillery shells.

Regarding China's position. It seems like masks are going off.

Earlier today I made an update regarding Avdiivka and territorial changes in the southern private sector.

This was based off new footage that emerged of a Russian assault unit, attacking in the most northern part which was previously considered under UA control, now turned into a gray zone.
