Finance Minister Smotrich has already explained that the US sanctions on violent settlers stem from a "false and anti-Semitic BDS campaign". So in the face of the shameless denials, here are some things you need to know about the settlers on the US and British sanction lists 🧵
Ely Federman - a settler from the "Meitarim Farm" outpost. Was documented as being involved in repeated violence against Palestinians and HR activists including: home invasions, threats, destruction of property and setting his dog on local Palestinians.
Moshe Sharvit - from the "Emek Tirzah" outpost. Has attacked many Pal communities, and since Oct has worked to forcibly transfer families in Ein Shibli (Jordan Valley). One family told Haaretz that he came to their home armed and gave them 5 hours to leave
Yinon Levy - a founder of "Meitarim Farm" outpost (illegal even under Israeli law), and yet provides demolition services to the IDF's Civil Administration with the use of his bulldozer. Has been accused of attacking Palestinians in the South Hebron Hills.

Levy has allegedly uprooted trees, destroyed a cave, three water systems, two water tanks, and can be seen here with his bulldozer blocking the access roads to the village of Susya in Masafer Yatta.
Zvi Bar Yosef - established the outpost "Zvi's Farm", which, according to @Btselem, has taken over 2,500 Dunams of Palestinian land. Here is a video of him kicking out a Palestinian family who were having a picnic near the village of Jibia.
Bar Yosef is attributed with a history of violence including tying Palestinians up, beating with clubs, engaging in severe violence that led to hospitalization. Police only questioned him once(!). He was convicted once, for violence against another settler

David Chai Chasdai - convicted after attacking an Arab taxidriver, and after beating a policeman while trying to escape being caught with gasoline bottles and sticks near a Palestinian town. Was issued with admin. arrest warrant following the Huwara pogrom

Einan Tanjil - 21 years old, but has already been convicted in 2022 for two counts of harm and wounding under aggravating circumstances, and assault that caused actual bodily harm.

In 2021, together with about twenty settlers, Tanjil raided a Palestinian olive harvest in the fields of Surif. He used a club to beat an Israeli activist in the head and leg and struck another activist in the face. He was not the only attacker, but only he was prosecuted.
Shalom Zicherman - resident of the “Mitzpe Yair” outpost. Among other things, threw rocks at a car with three Israeli HR activists in it, while other settlers blocked the car's path. Two of the activists were injured and the car's windows were smashed.
While our government denies settler violence even exists, some governments around the world are beginning to act. These people continue to live in their illegal homes, attack Palestinians, forcibly transfer entire communities - and receive protection from the government.
The main story here is not only the sanctions against violent individuals, but the state and the consecutive governments that gave them permission to act violently with virtual impunity. This reality would not exist without the backing of the political leadership in Israel.
