For people catching up, let's talk the significance of Alex Smirnov's RU Spook allegations.
1) This matters bc Bill Barr set up a back channel via which Rudy Giuliani could share dirt, including from known RU spies, to be channeled to Hunter Biden investigation
2) @ScottBradyPA claims he vetted these claims, using travel records.
The indictment makes it clear that travel records PROVE Smirnov was lying.
@ScottBradyPA 3) After Brady did or did not vet these claims, DOJ shut down the assessment. But days after Trump yelled at Bill Barr, Richard Donoghue ordered David Weiss to take a briefing on the allegation. He was supposed to check things that he only checked starting last September.
@ScottBradyPA 4) THIS CLAIM is almost certainly why David Weiss reneged on a plea deal with Hunter Biden and charged him with a bunch of shit designed to embarrass Joe Biden during an election.
@ScottBradyPA 5) THE REASON David Weiss reneged on that plea deal, while facing threats to his family, was bc of right wing pressure.
I've been writing post after post about all this since @ChuckGrassley claimed that Bill Barr's DOJ shut down an investigation into Burisma and then cycled a claim from that investigation into framing Hunter Biden.
