Jim Jordan just showed roughly 10 minutes of video of Biden talking for reasons that escape me and Nadler dinged him on it immediately lol

Nadler: "House Republicans may be desperate to convince America that white conservative men are on the losing end of a two-tiered justice system -- a theory that appeals to the MAGA crowd but has no basis in reality."

Oof -- Nadler put together a brutal supercut of Trump gaffing and shorting out

Raskin: "What America sees today is evidence of one president who believes in the rule of law and works to protect it. And one who has nothing but contempt for the rule of law and acts solely in pursuit of his own constantly multiplying corrupt schemes."

Nadler to Hur: "You have been a prosecutor for a long time. Would you agree that there is no such thing as being a little bit charged for a crime?"

Nadler while questioning Hur contrasts Biden cooperating with investigators with Trump's egregious obstruction

I didn't fully appreciate that the dynamic of this hearing is that everybody is mad at Hur. Dems are mad at him for his obvious hit job on Biden, and Rs are mad at him because his hit job didn't go far enough and result in a prosecution.

Raskin: "Our colleagues have switched over from being impeachment investigators -- which is how this whole thing started -- to be amateur memory specialists, giving us their drive-by diagnoses of the POTUS."

Raskin: "It's a memory test for all of America ... it's about trying to pull the wool over the eyes of America, because the tyrants and dictators are on the march today ... America faces a choice between democracy and tyranny."

uh oh -- Comer needs a cognitive test

Rep. Jackson Lee: "We have heard from our Republican colleagues, who are grasping at straws, allegations that President Biden was treated lightly in this investigation. But just a plain reading of this report completely refutes that argument."

Rep. Steve Cohen takes umbrage at the conflation of people with memory issues and "senile" people

Wow -- Rep. Hank Johnson to Hur: "You're doing everything you can do to get President Trump reelected so that you can get appointed as a federal judge, or perhaps to another position in the Department of Justice. Isn't that correct?"

Hur doesn't like that question.

Schiff nails Hur on the inclusion of a "general pejorative reference" about Biden in his report instead of just sticking to specific facts

Schiff schools Hur: "You were not born yesterday. You understood exactly what you were doing. It was a choice. You certainly didn't have to include that language."

SWALWELL: You want to be perceived, understandably, as credible, and so I want to first see if you will pledge to not accept an appointment from Donald Trump if he is elected again as president.

HUR: ... I'm not here to testify today about what will happen in the future

Swalwell points out that Hur left out of his report details from his interview with Biden that undercut his claims about Biden not having a good memory

Swalwell put together his own supercut of Trump shorting out time after time after time -- and it's perhaps even more brutal than Nadler's 😬

Republicans are now mad that the DOJ released the transcript of Hur's interview with Biden. So much for transparency!

i'm too sober to try to transcribe Victoria Spartz right now so here's a raw clip of part of today's word salad explosion

a brilliant line of questioning from Rep. Lieu, who cleverly asks Hur if he found evidence of Biden mishandling classified docs or engaging in criminality in the ways Trump did

Lieu: "Each of these activities I laid out describe what Donald Trump did ... that is why Donald Trump has been indicted in four criminal cases."

GOP Rep. Tom Tiffany to Hur: "I want to thank you for the work you did as far as you could, but unfortunately you are part of the praetorian guard that guards that swamp out here in Washington DC, protecting the elites." 😆

lmao Jim Jordan looks like he's really going through it

GOP REP. SCOTT FITZGERALD: Did you find Biden to be senile?

HUR: That conclusion does not appear in my report

Rep. Scanlon plays clips of Trump forgetting things during depositions

Neguse points out that unlike Bill Barr with Mueller, AG Merrick Garland did not try to spin Hur's report ahead of time to Biden's benefit

lmao Rep. Dean has Hur read the part of his report where he owns Trump

DEAN: You didn't reach the decision to not charge Biden because he's sympathetic. Is that correct?

HUR: I reached the decision based on the totality of the reasons that I set forth at length in my report

DEAN: Based on the evidence

Dean gives Hur a chance to correct what his report says about Biden not remember the date of Beau's death. Hur dodges.

Fox is doing its damndest to spin Hur's testimony as something other than a blowout loss for Republicans

Rep. Escobar walks through Hur the difference between Biden having classified docs at his home and Trump having them at his club where "tens of thousands of people" had access, and also points out that Biden never had his aides moves boxes of classified docs around

Harriet Hageman brought up Hillary's emails. Drink!

Republicans have used this talking point repeatedly today, and it'd be a good one if in fact there was an equivalence between Trump and Biden's mishandling of classified documents. But there isn't.

Rep. Bush: "They have zero credibility to talk about mental acuity when they support Donald Trump."

The Hur hearing is in break and almost done, so I'm gonna wrap this thread for now. If you appreciate me watching so you don't have to, pls sign up for my newsletter. You'll enjoy our independent journalism and paid subscribers make my work possible. Thx! publicnotice.co/subscribe

Republicans could literally vomit on the floor, slip in it and concuss themselves and Jonathan Turley would commend them on their impressive work.
